Warning: the personnel using this standard shall have practical experience in standard laboratory work. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices and guarantee compliance with the appropriate national laws and regulations.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the optical emission spectrometric analysis method of alloy elements and impurities in aluminum and aluminum alloy.
This standard is applicable to the simultaneous determination of 28 elements including antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, bismuth, boron, cadmium, calcium, cerium, chromium, copper, gallium, iron, lead, lithium, magnesium, manganese, nickel, phosphorus, scandium, silicon, sodium, strontium, tin, titanium, vanadium, zinc and zirconium in aluminum and aluminum alloys.

3 Method summary
The sample processed according to the requirements is placed on the spark stand in argon atmosphere, which is used as an electrode. The energy generated by the light source generator evaporates, atomizes and sparks the analyte, emitting the characteristic spectral lines of the elements to be measured. Such lines are used to measure the intensity of the selected internal standard line and analysis line after the characteristic spectral line being split by the dispersion system. The data processing system will directly read off the results on the working curve base on the relative intensity of the analysis line pair, thus realizing the quantitative analysis of the elements to be measured in the sample.
