1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packing, transportation, storage and quality certificate, and contents of contract (or order) of the aluminium and aluminium alloy extruded bars and rods for general industrial use.
This standard is applicable to the bars and rods of round cross section (hereinafter referred to as "round rods"), the bars and rods of square cross section (hereinafter referred to as "square rods") and the bars and rods of regular hexagonal cross section (hereinafter referred to as "hexagonal rods").

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
3.1.1 Designation, category, condition and specification
The designation, category, condition and specification of bars and rods shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1. If the purchaser needs bars and rods of other designations, conditions or specifications, the designation, condition and specification shall be decided between the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation and shall be noted in the contract (or order).
