1. Scope
This Part specifies the requirements, test method, test rules, markings, packaging, transportation, storage and contract contents of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plate, sheet and strip for general engineering.
This Part is applicable to wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plates, sheets and strips for general engineering, but not applicable to wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plates, sheets and strips for deep drawing, painting, anodized coating, curtain wall, PS foundation and other special purposes and military engineering.

3. Terms, Definitions and Symbols
3.1
Plate and sheet
Rolled products with rectangular lateral section, uniform thickness which is no greater than 0.20 mm; generally, their sides are shorn or sawn, and the products are delivered in flat-shape. The thickness is not more than 1/10 of the width.
3.2
Strip
Rolled products with rectangular lateral section, uniform thickness which is no greater than 0.20 mm; generally, their sides are longitudinally cut, and the products are delivered in coils. The thickness is not more than 1/10 of the width.
