GB/T 38942-2020 Pressure piping code—Utility piping English
Pressure piping code - Utility piping
1 Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the safety-related basic requirements for materials, design and calculation, manufacture and installation, inspection and test, safe operation and maintenance of utility piping (gas piping and heat piping).
1.2 This standard is applicable to the following urban gas piping and urban heat piping:
a) Gas piping: utility gas piping and ancillary facilities from gas plants or stations such as gate station, storage and distribution station and various gas source plants or stations to users or between plants/stations, with the ancillary facilities including line valve chamber, pressure regulating station (including pressure regulating box), condenser cylinder, etc., see Figure 1 for details.
b) Heat piping: steam piping and hot water piping and their ancillary facilities laid in cities and towns from the demarcation point of heat source outlet to the demarcation point of heat user (civil or industrial) inlet, see Figure 2 for details. Of them the medium design pressure is less than or equal to 2.5 MPa for both steam and hot water and the design temperature is less than or equal to 350℃ for steam or less than or equal to 200℃ for hot water.
1.3 This standard is not applicable to the following gas piping and heat piping:
a) The gas piping in the plant or station (except the pressure regulating station) in the gas system and the heat piping in the plant or station (except the heat station and the heat distribution station) in the heat system;
b) Internal gas piping and heat piping for industrial users (divided by plant boundaries);
c) Internal gas piping (divided by building service pipe valve) and heat piping (divided by heat inlet) for commercial and residential users;
d) Internal piping of gas and heat equipment.
