3 Terminologies and Definitions
For purpose of this Part, the terminologies and definitions defined in GB/T 12604.3 and NB/T 47013.1 as well as the followings apply.
3.1 Relevant indication
The mark indication formed by the penetrant oozed from the flaw, which is also called flaw indication generally.
3.2 Non-relevant indication
The indication formed by external factors irrelevant to the flaw.
3.3 False indications
The penetrant indication caused by penetrant contamination, testing environment, etc..
3.4 Assessment
The process to analyze the observed penetration-related indication and determine the cause of generating such indication and its classification.
