1 Scope
This standard specifies a method for the determination of the tensile stress-strain properties of vulcanized and thermoplastic rubbers.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the properties of vulcanized and thermoplastic rubbers, like the tensile strength, elongation at break, stress at a given elongation, elongation at a given stress, tensile stress at yield point and elongation at yield point. The measurement of the tensile stress and strain at the yield point applies only to some thermoplastic rubbers and certain other compounds.
Note: If necessary, the determination of the breaking permanent deformation may also be added.
