Plate Type Elastomeric Pad Bearings for Highway Bridges
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements of classification, technical requirements, test methods, test rules, marking, packaging, storage, transportation, installation and curing for plate type elastomeric pad bearings for highway bridges.
This standard is applicable to rectangular and circular plate type elastomeric pad bearings for highway bridges.

3 Classification and Code of Product
3.1 Product Classification
3.1.1 According to the structural type, it can be classified into:
a) Ordinary plate type elastomeric pad bearings: rectangular plate type elastomeric pad bearing (code name GJZ), circular plate type elastomeric pad bearing (code name GYZ);
b) PTFE sliding-plate type elastomeric pad bearings: rectangular PTFE sliding-plate type elastomeric pad bearing (code name GJZF4) , circular PTFE sliding-plate type elastomeric pad bearing (code name GYZF4) .
3.1.2 According to the material and application temperature for bearings, it can be classified into:
a) Chloroprene rubber (CR) shall be adopted for ambient-temperature type elastomeric pad bearings, and the application temperature shall be -25℃-600℃. Natural rubber shall not be used in place of chloroprene rubber and also it shall not be mixed into the chloroprene rubber;
b) Natural rubber (NR) shall be adopted for cold-resistant type elastomeric pad bearings, and the application temperature shall be -40℃-60℃.
3.2 Product Code
Representation method:
Classification of rubber: chloroprene rubber (CR) is adopted for ambient-temperature type bearings; natural rubber (NR) is adopted for cold-resistant bearings.
Dimension: Rectangular type: la× lb× t (mm); Circular type: d× t(mm).
Type code: F4 refers to PTFE sliding-plate bearings; while those un-code-names refer to ordinary bearings.
Name code: GJZ refers to rectangular bearings for highway bridges; GYZ refers to circular bearings for highway bridges.
Illustration1: A rectangular ordinary chloroprene rubber bearing for highway bridge whose shorter side is 300mm, longer side is 400mn and thickness is 47mm can be expressed as GJZ300×400×47 (CR) .
Illustration 2: a circular PTFE sliding-plate type natural rubber bearing for highway bridge whose diameter is 300mn and thickness is 54mn can be expressed as: GYZF4300×54 (NR) .
3.3 Bearing Structure
3.3.1 Ordinary plate type elastomeric pad bearing
Ordinary plate type elastomeric pad bearings shall be made of at least two stiffening steel plates which are wholly wrapped in elastic rubber material, its structure is shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively.

3.3.2 PTFE sliding-plate elastomeric pad bearing
PTFE sliding-plate elastomeric pad bearing is made by bonding a PTFE plate of certain thickness on the top surface of the ordinary plate type elastomeric pad bearing, its structure is shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4 respectively.
