3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions below and defined in GB/T 5907 apply.
3.1 Product
Building materials, composite materials or component about which information is required.
3.2 Material
The mixture of single substance or uniform distribution, such as metal, stone, wood, concrete, mineral fibre and polymer
3.3 Linear pipe thermal insulation product
Round pipeline product with insulating property, such as rubber and plastic insulating pipe and fiber glass insulating pipe
3.4 Homogeneous product
Product composed of single material or with uniform density and composition inside.
3.5 Non-homogeneous product
The product not in accordance with the definition of homogeneous product and composed of one or more categories of substantial or non-substantial component(s)
3.6 Substantial component
Substantial substance of non-homogeneous product, such as the material with single-layer surface density ≥1.0kg/m2 or single-layer thickness ≥1.0mm
3.7 Non-substantial component
Secondary structured substance of non-homogeneous product, such as the materials with single-layer surface density<1.0 kg/m2 and single-layer thickness <1.0 mm. Directly adjacent two-layer or multi-layer non-substantial components (no substantial component between them) may be regard as a non-substantial component where the combination meet the requirements of non-substantial components.
3.8 Internal non-substantial component
Non-substantial component with the two sides contacting a kind of substantial components at least
3.9 External non-substantial component
Non-substantial component with one not contacting substantial component(s)
3.10 Flooring
Materials or products that may be laid on the floor
3.11 Substrate
A category of products in direct contact with the backside (or bottom) of building products, such as concrete wall concrete wall surface
3.12 Standard substrate
Product that may represent substrate for practical applications
3.13 Flaming droplets/particles
Substance or particles separated from sample during the process of combustion test
3.14 Critical heat flux
CHF
Heat radiation flux at the flame quenching position or that from flame propagated to the farthest at 30min of the test.
