Flammability of interior materials for buses
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test method, and requirements for implementation date for flammability of interior materials for buses.
This standard is applicable to the evaluation of flammability of interior materials for M2 and M3 buses.
This standard does not cover electrical parts (electrical modules such as air conditioner assembly control switch, wire harnesses, electrical control panel, navigator, radio receiver, DVD module, and driving combination instrument), lighting, air bags (curtains), bathroom accessories (toilet, hand wash basin, and water tank) and sandwich panels with metallic outer layer and non-metallic inner layer.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
bus
a passenger vehicle accommodating more than 9 seats including the driver's seat
3.2
horizontal burning
fix the sample to a horizontal fixture with one end exposing to a specified test flame, and evaluate the horizontal burning behavior by measuring the burning rate
3.3
vertical burning
fix the sample to a vertical fixture with the lower end which exposing to a specified test flame, and evaluate the vertical burning behavior by measuring the burning rate
3.4
oxygen index
under the specified test conditions, during applying oxygen - nitrogen mixture at 23℃±2℃, the minimum oxygen concentration maintaining the material combustion, expressed by volume fraction
3.5
density of smoke
a measure of the smoke amount emitted by a material under specify test conditions, expressed by the attenuation of light intensity transmitted through the smoke
3.6
smoke toxicity
the degree of damage/ harm caused by toxic and hazardous substances in the smoke
