Polyolefin separator for lithium-ion battery
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of polyolefin separator for lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as separator).
This standard is applicable to separator for lithium-ion battery mainly made of polyolefin resin.
This standard serves as reference for the polyolefin separator coated on lithium-ion battery or the separators for lithium-ion batteries made of other materials.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

mean deviation
the deviation of the mean value from the nominal value
3.2
air permeability
the time required for 100mL air to pass through the separator with an area of 6.45cm2 with the test instrument under a pressure of 1.21kPa in the environment of test temperature and humidity and atmospheric pressure
3.3
porosity
the percentage of the volume of the internal pores to the total volume of the separator
3.4
raw material density
the true density of the raw material constituting the separator
4 Classification
Separators are classified into three categories based on the production process: dry unidirectionally stretched separator, dry bidirectionally stretched separator and wet bidirectionally stretched separator.
5 Requirements
5.1 Appearance
5.1.1 Separator appearance
The separator appearance shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
