This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009
This standard replaces GB/T 2977-2008 Size Designation, Dimensions, Inflation Pressure and Load Capacity for Truck Tyres; the following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 2977-2008 (the previous edition):
——The data of dimension, load capacity, inflation pressure, permitted rim and inflating valve model of partial tyre size designation are adjusted (see Table 2, Table 6, Tables 8~11, Table 20 and Table 26);
——Some size designations are added for tyres of partial types (see Table 4, Table 5, Tables 8~11, Table 17, Table 18, Table 22, Table 23, Table 2, Table 26 and Table 27);
——Ply rating is added for partial size designations (see Table 2, Table 4, Table 5, Tables 8~10, Table 17, Table 18, Table 22, Table 23, Table 25 and Table 27);
——The normal section radial tyre for Ultra Light Truck is added (see Table 3);
——The metric radial tyres for light truck (Series 80, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35 and 5° rim) are added (see Table 7 and Tables 12~16);
——The metric radial tyres for truck (Series 80~95, 5° rim) are added (See Table 24);
——The metric radial tyres for truck (Series 60, 15° rim) are added (See Table 29);
——The metric radial tyres for truck (Series 45~55, 15° rim) are added (See Table 30);
——The radial tyres for multi-purpose truck (Series 70~80, 5° rim) are added (See Table 31);
——The statement "see the remarks of Yearbook for Standard of Chinese Tyre Rim Inflating Valve for new size designations not covered hereby" is added (see Table 1, Table 3, Tables 17~19, Table 22, Table 21, Table 28 and Table 31);
——The service descriptions for rim and corresponding inflating valve used for light truck tubeless tyre are added (see Tables 1 and 3);
——The dual load and minimum dual spacing of special ST metric tyre for highway trailer are added (See Table 18);
——The requirements that the maximum overall diameter of new tyre with mud and snow pattern and new snow tyre as well as maximum tyre overall diameter in service may be increased by 1% are added (See Tables 19~ 33);
——The requirements of maximum/minimum peripheral dimension calculation and rounding off are added (see Annex D).
This standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 19 National Technical Committee 19 on Tyres and Rims of Standardization Administration of China.
The previous editions of this standard are as follows:
——GB/T 2977-1982, GB/T 2977-1989, GB/T 2977-1997 and GB/T 2977-2008;
——GB/T 19047-2003.
