1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to go through with national technical economy policy in welding for steel structure of building, and to live up to state-of-art technology, economy and rationality, safety and usability, and guarantee quality.
1.0.2 this code is applicable to carbon construction steel and low-alloy high-tensile structural steel welding with steels thickness is greater than or equal to 3 mm in steel structural engineering of industry as truss or wire frame (shell) structure, multilayer and high level beam/ column frame structure, etc., and civil architecture as well as general structures. Applied welding methods include manual electric arc welding, shielded arc welding, self-protecting welding, submerged arc welding, electroslag welding, electro-gas welding, stud welding and combination of correspondent welding method.
1.0.3 Welding of steel structure must comply with current relevant regulations for safety technique and labor protection of the nation.
1.0.4 not only the requirements stipulated in this (code, but also those in the current relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with for welding of steel structure.
