GB/T 5359 consists of four parts under the general title Term for motorcycles and mopeds
——Part 1: Types of vehicles;
——Part 2: Performance of vehicles;
——Part 3: Dimensions of vehicle with two and three wheels;
——Part 4: Mass of vehicle with two and three wheels.
This is Part 1 of GB/T 5359.
This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 5359.1-2008 Term for motorcycles and mopeds - Part 1: Types of vehicles.
The following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 5359.1-2008:
——Definitions of motorcycle and moped are modified (see 2.1 and 2.2; 2.1.1 and 2.2.1 of Edition 2008);
——Definitions are added as to plug-in hybrid electric motorcycle, plug-in hybrid electric moped, extended-range hybrid electric motorcycle and extended-range hybrid electric moped (see 2.1.2.1, 2.2.2.1, 2.1. 2.2 and 2.2.2.2);
——Definition of twinned wheels is added (see 2.3);
——“Clause 3 Types of vehicles” is added;
——“Annex A Reference table for types of vehicles” is added.

The previous editions of the standard replaced by this part are as follows:

1 Scope
This part of GB/T 5359 defines the terms and definitions for types of vehicles of motorcycles and mopeds.
This part is applicable to motorcycles and mopeds.
2 Terms of types
2.1
motorcycle
road vehicles with two or three wheels driven by a power unit, with a maximum design speed of more than 50 km/h or that meets one of the following conditions:
——Its displacement is greater than 50 mL if an internal combustion engine is used;
——The maximum continuous rated power of its motor is greater than 4 kW if it is driven by electricity.
However, the following types are not included:
Motor wheelchairs dedicated for disabled people, of which the maximum design vehicle speed, complete vehicle kerb mass, and overall dimensions are in line with relevant national standards and regulations

electric motorcycle
motorcycle driven by electricity, including electric motorcycles with two wheels and electric motorcycles with three wheels
Note: for the electric motorcycle with three wheels, the complete vehicle kerb mass does not include the mass of the traction battery.
2.1.2
hybrid electric motorcycle
motorcycle which meets the definitions of motorcycle and electric motorcycle and that is able to obtain power from at least the following two kinds of on-board stored energy:
——consumable fuel;
——rechargeable electrical energy/energy storage device

plug-in hybrid electric motorcycle
hybrid electric motorcycle with plug-in charging function, which can run for certain mileage driven only by electricity, including extended-range hybrid electric motorcycles

hybrid electric motorcycle which can supply electric energy to the power system via the auxiliary power generating device to extend the driving range in case that the in-vehicle rechargeable battery cannot meet the driving range requirement, and the in-vehicle auxiliary power generating device is directly connected to the drive system without the transmission shaft

moped

However, the following types are not included:

GB/T 5359《摩托车和轻便摩托车术语》分为4个部分:
——第1部分:车辆类型;
——第2部分:车辆性能;
——第3部分:两轮车和三轮车尺寸;
——第4部分:两轮车和三轮车质量。
本部分为GB/T 5359的第1部分。
本部分按照GB/T 1.1—2009给出的规则起草。
本部分代替GB/T 5359.1—2008《摩托车和轻便摩托车术语 第1部分:车辆类型》。
本部分与GB/T 5359.1—2008相比,主要技术变化如下:
——修改了摩托车和轻便摩托车的定义(见2.1、2.2,2008年版2.1.1、2.2.1);
——增加了插电式混合动力轻托车和插电式混合动力轻便摩托车、增程式混合动力摩托车和增程式混合动力轻便摩托车的定义(见2.1.2.1、2.2.2.1、2.1.2.2、2.2.2.2);
——增加了对轮的定义(见2.3);
——增加了第3章车辆类型;
——增加了附录A车辆类型参考表。

1 范围
GB/T 5359的本部分界定了摩托车和轻便摩托车车辆类型的术语及其定义。
本部分适用于摩托车和轻便摩托车。
2 类型术语
2.1
摩托车motorcycle
由动力装置驱动的具有两个或三个车轮的道路车辆,其最高设计车速大于50 km/h,或满足以下条件之一:
——若使用内燃机,其排量大于50 mL;
——若使用电力驱动,其电机的最大连续额定功率总和大于4 kW。
但不包括如下类别:
最大设计车速、整车整备质量、外廓尺寸等指标符合相关国家标准和规定的,专供残疾人驾驶的机动轮椅车。
2.1.1
电动摩托车 electric motorcycle
由电力驱动的摩托车,包括电动两轮摩托车和电动三轮摩托车。
注:对于电动三轮摩托车,整车整备质量不包含动力蓄电池的质量。
2.1.2
混合动力(电动)摩托车hybrid electric motorcycle
符合摩托车和电动摩托车的定义,能够至少从下述两类车载储存的能量中获得动力的摩托车:
——可消耗的燃料;
——可再充电能/能量储存装置。

插电式混合动力摩托车plug-in hybrid electric motorcycle
具有可外接充电功能,且有一定纯电驱动模式续驶里程的混合动力摩托车,包括增程式混合动力摩托车。
2.1.2.2
增程式混合动力摩托车 extended-range hybrid electric motorcycle
当车载可充电电池无法满足续驶里程要求时,能通过辅助发电装置为动力系统提供电能,以延长续驶里程的混合动力摩托车,且该车载辅助发电装置与驱动系统无传动轴直接连接。

两轮摩托车(L3)motorcycle with two wheels(L3)
车辆纵向中心平面上装有两个车轮的摩托车。

普通两轮摩托车street bike
采用骑式车架的两轮摩托车,一般用于公路或城市道路上行驶。
2.1.3.2
踏板式两轮摩托车motor-scooter
采用坐式车架的两轮摩托车。
2.1.3.3
两轮公路越野摩托车dual-purpose bike
采用骑式车架、越野型车轮的两轮摩托车,主要用于公路,也可用于崎岖路面行驶。

两轮越野摩托车off-road bike
采用骑式车架、越野型车轮的两轮摩托车,主要用于崎岖路面行驶。
2.1.3.5
两轮跑道赛车general racer bike
用于在特定跑道上比赛车速的两轮摩托车。
2.1.3.6
两轮公路赛车road racer bike
用于在封闭公路上比赛车速的两轮摩托车。
2.1.3.7
两轮越野赛车motor-crosser racer bike
用于在崎岖路面比赛车速的两轮摩托车。

两轮拉力赛车trial bike
用于比赛驾驶员耐力和车辆耐久性能的两轮摩托车。

特种两轮摩托车 motorcycle with two wheels for specific purpose
装有特种装备,用于完成特殊任务的两轮摩托车。

边三轮摩托车(L4) motorcycle with sidecar(L4)
在两轮摩托车的右侧装有边车的摩托车。

用于载运乘员或货物的边三轮摩托车。

边三轮赛车motorcycle with sidecar for motor-crosser racer
具有越野性能,用于竞赛和军事训练的边三轮摩托车。

特种边三轮摩托车 motorcycle with sidecar for specific purpose
装有特种装备,用于完成特殊任务的边三轮摩托车。
2.1.5
正三轮摩托车(L5) right three-wheeled motorcycle(L5)
装有三个车轮,其中一个车轮在纵向中心平面上,另外两个车轮对称于纵向中心平面布置的摩托车。

普通正三轮摩托车 general right three-wheeled motorcycle
用于载运乘员或货物的三轮摩托车。
2.1.5.2
专用正三轮摩托车 right three-wheeled motorcycle for specific purpose
装有专用设备,用于完成指定任务或在特定场地上使用的三轮摩托车。
2.2
轻便摩托车moped
由动力装置驱动的具有两个或三个车轮的道路车辆,其最高设计车速不大于50 km/h,且满足如下条件:
——若使用内燃机,其排量不大于50 mL;
——若使用电力驱动,其电机的最大连续额定功率总和不大于4 kW。
但不包括如下类别:
a) 最大设计车速、整车整备质量、外廓尺寸等指标符合相关国家标准和规定的,专供残疾人驾驶的机动轮椅车;
b)符合电动自行车国家标准规定的车辆。

电动轻便摩托车electric moped
