This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.12009.
This standard replaces GB/T 3198-2010 Aluminium and aluminium alloys foils. In addition to editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 3198-2010 Aluminium and aluminium alloys foils:

1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage, as well as quality certificates and contents of order form (or contract) of the aluminium and aluminium alloy foils.
This standard is applicable to aluminium and aluminium alloy foils (hereinafter referred to as aluminium foils)

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
3.1.1 See Table 1 for the designations, tempers, dimensions and specifications of aluminium foils. Other designations, tempers, dimensions and specifications, if required by the purchaser, shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation and be indicated in the order (contract).

3.1.2 Aluminium foils are divided into single-sided glazed aluminium foils and double-sided glazed aluminium foils, and the purchaser shall indicate in the order form (or contract) that either single-sided glazed aluminium foils or double-sided glazed aluminium foils are supplied. Single-sided glazed aluminium foils shall be supplied by coiling the bright side outward; coiling the dark side outward, if required, shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation and indicated in the order form (or contract).
3.1.3 The aluminium foils shall be labeled in the order of product name, standard number, designation, temper, thickness and width. The labelling example is as follows: The aluminium foil with designation of 1235, temper of O, thickness of 0.0150mm and width of 476.0mm is labeled as:

3.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of aluminium foils shall meet the requirements of GB/T 3190. Special requirements for chemical composition, if any, shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation, and shall be indicated in the order form (or contract).
3.3 Dimensional deviation
3.3.1 Thickness
3.3.1.1 Local thickness
The permissible deviation of local thickness of 2A11, 2024, 5A02 and 5052 aluminium alloy foils shall be ±5% of T, and that of aluminium foils with other designations shall meet those specified in Table 2. The aluminium foils with high precision grade, if required, shall be specified in the order form (or contract). Otherwise, aluminium foils with ordinary grade will be supplied.
