This standard is one of the series standards on “retaining rings”, which consist of:
——GB/T 893 Retaining rings for bores;
——GB/T 894 Retaining rings for shaft;
——GB/T 896 “E” rings;
——GB/T 959.1 Specifications for retaining rings - Circlips
This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 893.1-1986 Retaining rings for holes - Type A and GB/T 893.2-1986 Retaining rings for hole - Type B. The following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 893.1-1986 and GB/T 893.2-1986:
——GB/T 893.1-1986 and GB/T 893.2-1986 are combined into one standard with new title;
——Standard type (Type A) specifications: d1=210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 270, 280, 290 and 300mm are added (see Table 1);
——Thickness (s) and other dimensions and tolerances of standard type (Type A) are modified (see Table 1);
——Minimum limit dimension of the hole (d5) for installation pliers are specified (see Table 1 and Table 2);
——Standard value of bearing capacity of groove FN is added (see Table 1, Table 2 and Clause 5);
——Standard value of bearing capacity of retaining ring FR is added (see Table 1, Table 2 and Clause 5);
——Installation tool standards and specifications are added (see Table 1 and Table 2);
——Heavy-duty type (Type B) is added, with d1 = 20mm ~ 100mm (see Table 2);
——Groove design and installation are added (see Clauses 6 and 7);
——Annex A in the former standard is deleted.
This standard was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation.
This Standard is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 85 on Fasteners of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 85).
This standard is interpreted by the National Technical Committee 85 on Fasteners of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 85).
The previous editions of this standard are as follows:
——GB/T 893-1976;
——GB/T 893.1-1986;
——GB/T 893.2-1986.
Retaining rings for bores
1 Scope
This standard specifies two types of retaining rings for bores: standard type (Type A) with aperture d1= 8mm ~ 300mm and the heavy-duty type (Type B) with aperture d1= 20mm ~ 100mm, and gives the design data of groove for assembling the retaining ring.
This standard is applicable to retaining rings capable of bearing axial force for fixing parts or components (such as rolling bearings) in bores.
