3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.10 and the following ones apply.
3.1
nominal value
designated quantity values which are used in table frequently
Note: In this standard, the quantity value evolved from nominal value is generally inspected by measuring after considering specified tolerance.
3.2
median value
the value in the middle of several values obtained from test which are arranged in increasing (or decreasing) order in case the number of values is odd, or the average value of two values in the middle of such values arranged as above in case the number of values is even
3.3
rated voltage
the reference voltage adopted when designing, using and carrying out electrical property test
Note: In AC system, the rated voltage is expressed by U0/U. U0 represents the voltage effective value between any main insulated conductor and "ground" (metallic shield, metallic sheath or surrounding medium), U is the voltage effective value between any two-phase conductors in multi-core cable or single-core cable system. The rated voltage of cable shall be at least equal to the nominal voltage of cable system, and this condition goes for both U0 and U. In DC system, the rated voltage is expressed with U0 which means the voltage effective value between conductor and shield. The working voltage of system shall not be greater than 1.1 times of the nominal voltage of system.
3.4
routine tests
R
the test carried out by the manufacturer on all the manufacture length of the finished cable, in order to inspect whether all cables meet the requirements
3.5
sample tests
S
the test carried out, by the manufacturer according to specified frequency, on the specimens of finished cables or on some components taken from finished cables, in order to inspect whether the cables meet the relevant requirements
3.6
type tests
T
the test carried out on a type of cable covered by this standard before supply according to general commercial principle, in order to verify that the cable properties meet the intended service conditions
Note: Once the type test is conducted, it is unnecessary to repeat it unless the cable characteristic is potentially changed due to the change in material, design or manufacturing process of cable.
3.7
electric vehicles
including blade electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles
Blade electric vehicle is motor driven vehicle. The electric energy for driving motor comes from on-board chargeable battery or other energy storage device; hybrid electric vehicle is the vehicle which can obtain power from the undermentioned two types of on-board stored energies at least: consumable fuel and rechargeable electricity/energy storage device.
3.8
charging
powering the power batteries of electric vehicle, or additionally on-board electric apparatus, at standard voltage/current regulated from AC/DC power supply network (power supply)
4 Service Characteristics
4.1 Rated voltage
AC: U0/U is 450/750V and below.
DC: U0 is 1.0kV and below.
4.2 Temperature range
Service environment temperature: -40℃~+50℃; suitable cable shall be selected according to environmental requirements when it is used.
See Table 1 for the maximum continuous working temperature of conductor of insulation and sheath (inner sheath) material and its minimum service environment temperature.
