The following main changes have been made with respect to Q/JD 1920-2008:
——The enterprise standard name is modified.
——Chapter 3 "Terms and Definitions" is revised and perfected.
——Test methods in 5.3.16 and 5.3.17 are deleted.
——Test methods in articles such as 5.3.15, 5.3.6, 5.5.2, 5.5.3, 5.5.4, 5.5.5, 5.6.1, 5.6.2, 5.6.3, 5.6.8 and 5.6.9 are revised and perfected.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of automobile connector.
This standard is applicable to single-wire and multi-wire connector in wire harness and separate connector on automobile for maintenance.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

terminal
a kind of metal dielectric for signal transmission and energy conduction, which may be classified into male terminal and female terminal

wire accessory
the combination of terminal and conductor after crimping connection

the plastic part for protecting and fixing terminal to make it insulated from the outside

connector
the combination formed by the cooperation of wire accessories and sheath for realizing the connection and disconnection of circuit

buckle
the connecting element assembled on sheath for fastening and connecting with the outside

self locking
the restraining structure for preventing terminal from leaving the sheath, which may be classified into primary self locking and secondary self locking
3.7
waterproof plug
the rubber structure of conductor accessories at the outside of conductor insulation leather by crimping connection, for preventing liquid from penetrating into rubber structure through connector hole. It is only used in waterproof connector
3.8
blind plug
the rubber structure for blocking the unused hole in connector for water proofing. It is only used in waterproof connector

seal ring
the rubber structure in sheath for preventing liquid penetrating. It is only used in waterproof connector
4 Requirements
4.1 Connectors shall meet the requirements of this standard and be manufactured according to the drawings and technical documents approved by established procedures.
4.2 The requirements and quality grading of connector shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1. As for quality grade, there are Grades A, B and C, in which Grade A is the most important quality grade, Grade B is the sub-important one and Grade C is general one.
