This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces TB/T 1010-2005 Wheelset of Railway Vehicles - Type and Basic Dimensions and TB/T 3169-2007 Axles for Railway Cars - Types and Basic Dimensions. Based on TB/T 1010-2005, this standard incorporates the contents of TB/T 3169-2007, with the contents on wheel and bearing added. The following technical changes have been made with respect to TB/T 1010-2005 in addition to a number of editorial changes:
——types and basic dimensions of the axle, wheel and bearing are added (see Chapter 4);
——the names of the wheelsets are modified: RD32 is changed to RD3A, RD32A to RD3A1, and RD42 to RD4A (see Table 8; Table 2 of Edition 2005);
——wheelset Types RE2B, RF2, RDAM96, PW-220 and RFQ are added (see Table 8);
——axle Types RD3A1, RE2B, RF2, RDAM96, PW-220 and RFQ are added (see Table 9);
——wheel Types HDZD, HEZD, HFS, HFZ, PW-220 and KKDQ are added (see Table 9);
——bearing Types 804468(9)A, 804468(9)B, F-804468(9).02.ZL, BC1B322880(1), BC1B322880(1)AB, 4(15)2726TT, BT2-8690D, TBU1639605E, TBU1639435, BC2-0098, 353132A and 353132B are added (see Table 9);
——wheelset and axle Types B, D, E, RB2 and RD33 are deleted (see Table 2 in Edition 2005);
——wheel Types HBS, HES, KDS, KDQ and PC are deleted (see Table 2 in Edition 2005);
——plain bearing and bearing Types 197720, 197726 and 353130-2RS are deleted (see Table 2 in Edition 2005).
This standard is under the jurisdiction of Standards and Metrology Research Institute, China Academy of Railway Sciences.
The previous editions of the standard replaced by this standard are as follows:
——TB/T 1010-1963, TB/T 1010-1985 and TB/T 1010-2005;
——TB/T 3169-2007.
Wheelset and Bearing of Railway Vehicles - Types and Basic Dimensions
1 Scope
This standard specifies the naming principles of general-purpose wheelsets, axles, wheels and bearing code, the basic dimensions, wheelset selection and assembly for railway vehicles.
This standard is applicable to the naming and selection of general-purpose wheelsets, axles, wheels and bearings for railway vehicles with standard gauge.

3 Naming Principles
3.1 Wheelset and axle
The name of the wheelset is the same as that of the axle, which is composed of the bearing type code, journal diameter series code, passenger and freight car type code, brake disc number code and retrofit series code in turn:
See Table 1 for detailed description.
Table 1 Description of Wheelset and Axle Types
Code name Code composition Code Description
Bearing type Expressed by a letter R R stands for rolling bearing
Journal diameter series Expressed by a letter C Journal diameter 120mm
D Journal diameter 130mm
E Journal diameter 150mm
F Journal diameter 160mm
Passenger and freight car type Expressed by a single-digit Arabic number 2 Freight car

4 Passenger car with lengthened axle segment
Brake disc number Passenger car is expressed by a letter A/B A: passenger car with two brake discs; B: passenger car with three brake discs
Freight car is expressed by a single-digit Arabic number 2/3 2: freight car with two brake discs; 3: freight car with three brake discs
Retrofit series Passenger car is expressed by a single-digit Arabic number 1 Passenger car retrofit
Freight car is expressed by a letter A/B Freight car retrofit
3.2 Wheel
The name of the wheel is composed of the passenger and freight car type code, journal diameter series code, plain disc type or manufacture mode code and retrofit series code in turn:
See Table 2 for the detailed description.
