This standard is developed according to the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 13793-2008 Steel Pipes with a Longitudinal Electric (Resistance) Weld and has the following main changes with respect to GB/T 13793-2008:
——The application scope is modified;
——The permissible variation in dimension is modified;
——The permissible variations in specified length and multiple length are modified;
——The mass conversion coefficient of galvanized steel pipes is modified;
——Designations Q275, Q390, Q420, Q460 are added; designation Q295 and its technical requirements are deleted;
——Cold/hot working methods after welding are deleted from the manufacturing methods;
——The mechanical property requirements of Q195 are modified;
——Sampling method and sampling position of tensile test are added;
——The requirements for transverse tensile test of weld are modified;
——The requirements for non-destructive testing of steel pipe weld are modified;
——The requirements for the mass of galvanized coating are modified;
——The conversion formula coefficient of unit mass and thickness of galvanized coating are modified.

Steel Pipes with a Longitudinal Electric (Resistance) Weld
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, code, order details, dimension, shape, mass, permissible variation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packing and quality certification of steel pipes with a longitudinal electric (resistance) weld.
This standard is applicable to steel pipes (not greater than 711mm in outer diameter) with a longitudinal electric (resistance) weld used in machinery and building structures and may also be applicable to the welded steel pipes for general fluid transportation.

3 Classification and Code
3.1 By the precision grade of outer diameter, steel pipes are divided into:
a) General precision PD.A;
b) Relatively high precision PD. B;
c) High precision PD. C.
3.2 By the precision grade of wall thickness, steel pipes are divided into:
a) General precision PT.A
b) Relatively high precision PT.B
c) High precision PT.C
3.3 By the precision grade of bending, steel pipes are divided into:
a) General precision PS. A;
b) Relatively high precision PS. B;
c) High precision PS. C.
4 Order Details
4.1 General requirements
Contracts or orders for steel pipes based on this standard shall be included:
a) The number of this standard;
b) Product name;
c) Steel designation (quality grade);
d) Ordered quantity (total mass or total length);
e) Manufacturing method;
f) Dimensional specification;
g) Delivery state;
h) Usage.
4.2 Special requirements
As indicated in the contract based on the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, the purchaser may select the following requirements:
a) Hydrostatic pressure test;
b) Manufacturing precision;
c) Pipe end state;
d) Remove the inner burrs;
e) Mass of galvanized coating;
f) Other requirements.
5 Dimension, Shape, Mass and Permissible Variation
5.1 Outer diameter and wall thickness
5.1.1 The nominal outer diameter (D) and wall thickness (t) of steel pipes shall meet the requirements of GB/T 21835. As required by the purchaser and based on the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, steel pipes of other sizes (beyond those specified in GB/T 21835) may be supplied.
5.1.2 The permissible variation in outer diameter and wall thickness of steel pipes shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1 and Table 2 respectively. When the permissible variation level in dimension of steel pipes is not specified in the contract, steel pipes for roller of belt conveyor shall be delivered by relatively high precision as for the permissible variation in outer diameter and wall thickness, other steel pipes shall be delivered by general precision as for permissible variation of outer diameter and wall thickness.
As required by the purchaser and indicated in the contract based on the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, the steel pipes with permissible variation in dimension beyond those specified in Table 1 and Table 2 may be supplied.
