3.1
negative air ion
individual gas molecule or multiple molecular group, with negative charge, hereinafter referred to as “negative air ion”
3.2
negative ion generator
device which continuously generates negative ion in air by discharging, hereinafter referred to as “generator”
3.3
negative ion density
quantity of negative ions in unit volume of air
Note: unit: g/cm3.
3.4
emitter
medium in generator, used for air discharge
3.5
working voltage of emitter

4 Classification and Designation
See Annex A for classification and designation of generator.
5 Requirements
5.1 Appearance
5.1.1 The casing of generator shall be in good condition, free of deformation and sharp corner.
5.1.2 The surface of conductor and sheath shall be clean, free of dirt or damage
5.1.3 Coating should be uniform in color, free of odor, scratches, peeling, damaged matt surface, pores, roughness, leakage, etc.
5.1.4 Circuit shall be packaged well and fixed reliably.
5.2 Safety requirements
5.2.1 Heating
Generator and its ambient environment shall not reach excessive temperature in normal use. Temperature rise shall be monitored continuously during the test. The temperature rise shall not exceed the value shown in Table 3 in Chapter 11, GB 4706.1-2005. The protective device shall not act and the sealant shall not flow out.
5.2.2 Leakage current
At working temperature, the generator continues to work to the stable state specified in 6.3.2, and the leakage current shall not exceed the following values:
——For Class II structure: 0.25mA;
——For Class III structure: 0.5mA.
5.2.3 Protection against access to live parts
The structure and casing of the generator shall be adequate to protect against accidental access to live parts.
Note: parts that are powered by a safe ultra-low voltage are not applicable.
5.2.4 Electrical strength
Where tested according to 6.3.4, no breakdown shall occur.
5.2.5 Moisture resistance
After being subject to the test specified in 6.3.5, the generator, where under electrical strength test according to 6.3.4, shall be free from of breakdown.
5.2.6 Vibration resistance
After being subject to the test specified in 6.3.6, the generator, where under electrical strength test according to 6.3.4, shall be free from of breakdown.
5.2.7 Installation strength
Generator shall be provided with enough installation strength, of which the surface shall be free from visible damage after being subject to the test according to 6.3.7.
5.2.8 Ozone concentration
Where tested according to the requirements of Annex B, the ozone concentration generated by the generator shall not exceed 0.10mg/m3.
