Drawing Rules and Standard Detailing Drawings of Ichnographic Representing Method for Construction Drawings of R.C. Structures (Cast-in-situ Concrete Slab-stairs)
1. This drawing collection is based on the MOHURD document No. [2016] 89 Notification of Distributing the Working Plan of Compiling the National Standard Design for Buildings in 2016.
2. This drawing collection is the national building standard design drawing collection for construction drawings of cast-in-situ concrete slab-stairs using ichnographic representing method (IRM).
Ichnographic representing, in general, is to show dimensions and reinforcement details of structural members directly in the structural plan layout according to rules of IRM. A completed set of structural construction drawings shall include both IRM drawings and standard detailing drawings.
3. Main design references in this drawing collection are:
Seismic Ground Motion Parameters Zonation Map of China
(GB 18306-2015);
Code for Design of Concrete Structures (2015 version) (GB 50010-2010);
Code for Seismic Design of Buildings (GB 50011-2010) and its partial revision in 2016;
Technical Specification for Concrete Structures of Tall Building
(JGJ 3-2010)
Standard for Structural Drawings (GB/T 50105-2010)
If the reference standards are revised or new standards are implemented and the contents or products in this drawing collection are conflicted with them, such contents or products shown in this drawing collection shall be looked on as invalid. Engineers who use this drawing collection shall check relevant contents in this drawing collection with updated standards.
4. There are two parts in this drawing collection: drawing rules of cast-in-situ concrete slab-stairs and standard detailing drawings.
5. This drawing collection is applicable to cast-in-situ concrete slab-stairs in seismic design with seismic precautionary intensity 6~9.
6. The rules specified in this drawing collection can be used for designers to generate ichnographic construction drawings of stairs or can be used as reference for contractors and inspectors to understand and use ichnographic construction drawings correctly.
7. Details and other items which are not included in this drawing collection should be worked out by designers.
8. If modifications of the standard detailing drawings in this drawing collection are required for certain projects, designers should provide specific modified contents.
9. All dimensions are in millimeters (mm), and structural levels are in meters (m).
10. Type codes in this drawing collection:
Stair slab—AT~GT, ATa, ATb, ATc, CTa and CTb; landing slab—PTB; stair beam—TL; stair column—TZ
11. To uniform the expression, the direction of travel upwards of all the stairs in this drawing collection is anticlockwise. However, drawing rules and detailing are applicable to all stairs no matter the direction of travel upwards is clockwise or anticlockwise.

1 General Provisions
1.1.1 Setting the rules of IRM is to standardize the use of IRM in structural construction drawings of buildings, to uniform the format of construction drawings carried out by IRM, and to ensure the quality of design and construction.
1.1.2 The rules in this drawing collection are applicable to cast-in-situ concrete slab-stairs.
1.1.3 Apart from the rules of the IRM in this drawing collection, other updated national standards shall also be complied with.
1.1.4 Construction drawings carried out in accordance with IRM usually consist of two main parts, ichnographic construction drawings of stairs and standard detailing drawings.
1.1.5 IRM of stair slabs includes ichnographic annotation, sectional annotation and tabulated annotation. IRM of landing slabs, stair beams and stair columns should comply with the drawing collection for national building standard design 16G101-1 Drawing Rules and Standard Detailing Drawings of Ichnographic Representing Method for Construction Drawings of R.C. Structures (Cast-in-situ R.C. Frames, Shear Walls, Beams and Slabs).
1.1.6 For ichnographic construction drawings, the structural floor level, story height and corresponding floor number of floors below and above ground level shall be shown in tables or by other methods.
Structural floor level shall be coordinate with structural story height in the same project in order to set the vertical position of foundations, columns, walls, beams, slabs, etc.- properly. For the convenience of construction, the structural floor level, structural story height shall be shown in ichnographic construction drawing of all kinds of structural members such as columns, walls and beams.
Note: Structural floor level is the floor level shown in architectural drawings excluding the thickness of floor finishing and cushion layers. The floor number in structural drawings shall be consistent with that in architectural drawings.
1.1.7 When ichnographic construction drawings are prepared, every structural member should be numbered, and the numbering of each member includes the type code and serial number. The type code is to indicate relevant standard detailing drawings. Standard detailing drawings are noted with the type code of members to show the complementary relationship between the detailing drawings and corresponding types of members in ichnographic construction drawings. A completed set of structural design drawings shall include both ichnographic construction drawings and standard detailing drawings.
1.1.8 In order to carry out construction properly according to ichnographic construction drawings, the information, which is closely relevant to ichnographic construction drawings, has to be specified in specific construction drawings as below:
1. The reference number of the adopted ichnographic standard drawing collection (e.g. 16G101-2 for this drawing collection) shall be specified in order to prevent any misuse of the drawing collection once updated.
