This document is Part 1 of GB/T 713 Steel plate, sheet and strip for pressure equipments. The following parts of GB/T 713 have been issued:

——Part 4: Nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties;

Introduction
GB/T 713 Steel plate, sheet and strip for pressure equipments is developed to standardize the classification and designation, order information, dimension, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of steel plates, sheets and strips for pressure equipments such as boilers, pressure vessels, liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) ships, and is proposed to consist of the following eight parts.
——Part 1: General requirements; designed to identify the general requirements for reference in other parts.
——Part 2: Non-alloy and alloy steel with specified temperature properties; designed to determine the technical requirements for manufacturing steel strips and coil cutting steel plates and sheets with a thickness of not greater than 25.4mm and a service temperature of not lower than -20℃, as well as single rolled steel plates and sheets with a thickness of 3mm to 250mm, which are used for pressure equipments.
——Part 3: Low alloy steel with specified low temperature properties; designed to determine the technical requirements for manufacturing low alloy steel plates and sheets with a thickness of 5mm to 120mm and a service temperature of not lower than -70℃, which are used for pressure equipments.
——Part 4: Nickel-alloy steels with specified low temperature properties; designed to determine the technical requirements for nickel-alloy steel plates and sheets with specified low temperature properties with a service temperature of not lower than -196℃ and a thickness not greater than 150mm.
——Part 5: High manganese steel with specified low temperature properties; designed to determine the technical requirements for high manganese steel plates and sheets with specified low temperature properties with a service temperature of not lower than -196℃ and a thickness of 5mm to 60mm.
——Part 6: Quenched and tempered high strength steel; designed to determine the technical requirements for quenched and tempered high strength steel plates and sheets with a thickness of 10mm to 80mm, which are used for pressure equipments.
——Part 7: Stainless steel and heat resisting steel; designed to determine the technical requirements for hot-rolled stainless steel and heat resisting steel plates, sheets and strips (including coil cutting steel plates/sheets), cold-rolled stainless steel and heat resisting steel plates, sheets and strips (including coil cutting steel plates/sheets) with a width of not less than 600mm, which are used for pressure equipments.
——Part 8: Homogeneous and heterogeneous rolled clad steel plates and sheets; designed to determine the technical requirements for steel plates and sheets as well as composite steel plates with stainless steel as cladding and carbon steel as base, with a thickness of greater than 100mm, which are produced through composite rolling process and used for pressure equipments.

1 Scope
This document specifies the designation expression, order information, dimension, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of steel plates, sheets and strips for pressure equipments.
This document is applicable to the manufacturing and acceptance of steel plates, sheets and strips for pressure equipments such as boilers, pressure vessels and pressure pipes (hereinafter referred to as steel plates, sheets and strips).
Specific requirements for steel plates, sheets and strips for pressure equipments are given separately in the applicable documents of GB/T 713 (all parts).
