1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic principles and requirements, display content and displaying modes for the information of the products sold on E-commerce platform.
This standard is applicable to the product information presentation in E-commerce platform.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 35408-2017 apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions in GB/T 35408-2017 are listed repeatedly as follows.
3.1
product information
a general term for the characteristics, operational performance, price, fulfillment period and method related to a product, and the news, data & intelligence of the production, transaction, distribution, after-sales service of the product
Note 1: the information about product characteristics includes but is not limited to:
a) trademark, brand, honors, product certifications, etc.;
b) appearance, model & specifications, materials & ingredients, etc.;
c) quality indexes, parameters and functions, safety warnings, etc.;
d) shelf life, expiration date, etc.;
e) preservation methods, using methods, etc.
Note 2: production information includes: the name and address, production license, production time, etc. of the producer.

4 Basic principles and requirements
4.1 Basic principles
4.1.1 Compliance
In E-commerce transactions, product information display shall meet the requirements of national laws and regulations.
4.1.2 Authenticity
In E-commerce transactions, product information display shall be veridical, accurate, and valid, and shall not involve false content.
4.1.3 Completeness
In E-commerce transactions, product information display shall be complete and comprehensive.
4.1.4 Normalization
In E-commerce transactions, product information shall be displayed in normative language and terms, accompanied with necessary interpretation for specialized or specific terms.
4.1.5 Consistency
The product information displayed on the E-commerce trading platform shall be consistent with the product and the information indicated on it received by the buyer. When more than two languages are used, the content shall be consistent.
4.2 Basic requirements
4.2.1 The seller shall display the information on product for sale on E-commerce sales platform in accordance with the basic principles of 4.1. The information displayed shall include: product identification, product production and sales information, product safety warnings, and product performance. As required, the seller shall also display the information about the payment modes and transportation cost description, after-sales service, maintenance, transportation & installation, energy saving and environmental protection, civil liability, etc. for the products to be purchased at the same time or separately. See Clause 5 for details.
4.2.2 The products displayed by any E-commerce platform provider on its platform shall comply with the principles of compliance, authenticity and consistency together.
4.2.3 The E-commerce platform shall supervise the product information displayed by merchants (sellers) who have entered its platform, to clear or urge sellers to modify illegal information, and take measures to deal with it according to the trading rules.
5 The content of and requirements for product information display
5.1 Product identification information
5.1.1 Product identification information includes but is not limited to the following information:
a) product name: common name and specific name of the product;
b) trademarks and/or brands;
c) product specifications, models, parameters or ingredients;
d) As required, product identification information shall also include:
1) market access information: licensed product certificate, compulsory product certificate, etc.;
2) product bar code;
3) appellation of origin;
4) voluntary certificate and/or logo, etc.
5.1.2 It is required to use the product name and image that will not cause confusion or misunderstanding for buyers.
5.1.3 The names of different brands shall not be listed at the same time in the main title containing the product name on the product sales page.
Note: similar titles such as Nike Addy sneakers shall be forbidden.
5.1.4 It is forbidden to falsely use trademarks and brands or use those similar to others.
5.1.5 For products of the same type on the E-commerce platform for sale with different functions, performance indexes, etc. from those of products for sale in a physical store, they shall be differentiated using different model markings, and products marked as "E-commerce exclusive products" shall be provided with the difference of information on the functions, performance indexes, etc. from those of products of the same type in a physical store.
5.1.6 For products listed in the catalog of products requiring production license or compulsory product certification (such as CCC certification), the latest number or photo of the relevant certificate shall be explicitly indicated.
5.2 Production & sales information of products
5.2.1 The production & sales information of products shall include but is not limited to the following:
a) product producer, seller’s name and contact information;
b) the place of production of product;
c) the address of the product producer or seller (with at least the prefecture-level city, or more details indicated);
d) the numbers of relevant national, professional, local, group and enterprise standards of products implemented during product production and/or quality inspection;
e) product price;
f) freight;
g) the conditions for goods changing or refunding;
h) as required, product sales information shall also include:
1) the quantity of products sold;
2) buyer's evaluation information on the product.
5.2.2 Product price shall be real and valid, with special and preferential policies with limited time conditions of use to be significantly explained.
5.2.3 Production place of product shall be the actual place where the product is made and shall not be replaced by the address of product seller, registration place of enterprise, etc.
5.2.4 The address and contract information of the product producer or seller shall be veridical, valid and complete.
5.2.5 The imported products and products bought by purchasing agents shall be marked with the place of origin (at least the country/region) of the product, relevant documentary evidence, the Chinese text of the product identification, as well as the names & address and valid contact information of domestic agents or importers or sellers registered in China.
5.2.6 The markings of production date, shelf life and/or expiration date and deadline for date of use shall be significantly indicated and shall not cause misunderstanding and confusion for buyers.
5.2.7 Product information display shall not involve false promotions, fictitious original price and fictitious transactions.
