This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 3328-1997 Furniture - Main sizes of beds and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 3328-1997:
——The clause - “Scope” is modified (see clause 1; clause 1 of 1997 edition);
——The definition of the bed surface is deleted and meanwhile the definition of the bed base is added (see 2.1; 2.1.1 of 1997 edition);
——The schematic diagrams for the main sizes of monolayer beds and bunk beds are modified (see 4.1; 3.1 of 1997 edition);
——The bed base length of monolayer bed is modified as: 1,900mm~2,220mm for inserted-mat style and 1,900mm~2,200mm for noninserted-mat style (see 4.1; 3.1 of 1997 edition);
——The bed base width is modified as: 700mm~1,200mm for single bed and 1,350mm~2,000mm for double bed; the height range of the bed base with a mattress placed on it is deleted; the height range of the bed base without a mattress placed on it is modified as ≤ 450mm (see 4.1; 3.1 of 1997 edition);
——The bed base length of bunk bed is modified as 1,900mm~2,020mm and the bed base width of bunk bed as 800mm~1,520mm (see 4.2; 3.2 of 1997 edition);
——The "Note: In case of special requirements or contract requirements, all sizes shall be noted in the contract by the supplier and the purchaser, and are not subject to this limitation” is added in a table (see 4.2; 3.2 of 1997 edition).
This standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Furnitures of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 480).
This standard was firstly issued in 1982 and revised in 1997 for the first time.
Furniture - Main sizes of beds
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, codes and main sizes of beds.
This standard is applicable to the design and production of monolayer beds and bunk beds for adults; and it may also be referred to for that of other beds.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
bed base
supporting structure for placement of a mattress or sleeping pad
2.2
clear height between bunks
distance between the bed base of lower bunk and the bed base bottom of upper bunk in a bunk bed
3 Code
See Table 1 for main size codes and descriptions of beds
Table 1 Main size codes and descriptions of beds
