This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 18168-2008 Specifications of Water Amusement Equipment Category.
The following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 18168-2008 (the previous edition):
a) Some terms are revised and added, and the term classification is restructured and edited; the number of terms is increased from 34 in former standard to 53 (see Chapter 3).
b) Most of contents in "Technical Requirements" are revised (see Chapter 4):
1) Some contents in "Basic Requirements" are revised and deleted (see 4.1).
2) The section "Basic Design Requirements" is deleted, with some contents in it respectively listed into other relevant clauses of this chapter (see Chapter 4).
3) The sequence of "amusement pool" and "water slide device" is revised (see 4.2 and 4.3).
4) Main revision conditions of "water slide device" are as follows:
——the "water slide device" revised is classified into three clauses, e.g. "materials", "design" and "safety technical requirements" (see 4.2);
——as for the "materials" revised, general requirements for materials are added, supporting structure is defined and basic requirements are specified (see 4.2.1);
——the "design" revised is newly added, mainly specifying contents which shall be covered in design calculation and evaluation basis of design load; in addition, calculation example of centrifugal force (inertial force) (Informative Annex B.3), acceleration calculation and calculation methods for combined loads in operation and non-operation state (see 4.2.2) are added;
——as for "safety technical requirements" revised, some contents in former standard are revised as content of this clause, and new contents are added (see 4.2.3).
5) Some contents of "amusement pool" are revised; "waving equipment" is revised as "waving pools" and listed in "4.3 Amusement Pool" (see 4.3).
6) The "interactive amusement equipment" is revised as "interactive aquatic play structure", with some contents revised and added (see 4.4).
7) Some contents of "Whitewater Rafting" are revised (see 4.5).
8) Some contents of "Pleasure Boats" are revised (see 4.6).
c) "Test Methods" are revised. "Test Conditions" and "Water Slide Device Test" are mainly revised (see Chapter 5).
d) "Inspection Rules" are revised, with main revised contents as follows (see Chapter 6):
1) Inspection classification and sampling inspection are deleted; and the inspection is defined as total inspection (see 6.1.1).
2) Items, basis, methods, etc. of general inspection and special inspection of various equipment and facilities are specified in tables (see 6.1.2).
e) "Annexes" are revised, with main revised contents as follows:
1) Annex A is revised as Annex B (Informative), and contents in Annex B are revised.
2) Annex A (Informative) is added.

Specifications of Water Amusement Equipment Category
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of water amusement equipment.
This standard is applicable to water amusement equipment such as water slide device, amusement pool, interactive aquatic play structure, whitewater rafting, and pleasure boats.
This standard is not applicable to boats with more than 6 riders which are operated by special person and inflatable water slide devices.
