GA 38-2021 Security requirements for banking business area
1 Scope
This document specifies the overall security requirements of banking financial institutions and the security requirements of key security sites and locations such as banking business area, self-service bank device, self-service bank, commercial vault zone, safe-deposit boxes vault, monitoring center of security network system, data center, data equipment room and equipment room.
This document is applicable to the construction and management of security systems in banking financial institutions. It may also serve as a reference for the construction and management of relevant security systems in other financial institutions and security escort companies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 50348 and the following apply.

security
preventing, delaying and stopping intrusion, theft, robbery, destruction, explosion, violent attack and the like by comprehensively using personnel protection, physical protection, electronic security and other means

3.2
banking business area
physical area where banks provide customers with services such as cash deposit and withdrawal, securities and precious metal trading, payment settlement, as well as office areas, vaults, passages, etc. that are connected to the physical area
3.2.1
cash area
physical space in a banking business area for receipt & payment and display of cashes, securities and precious metals
3.2.2
non-cash area
physical area in a banking business area for handling non-cash transactions
3.3
self-service bank device
specific device provided by a bank for the customer to complete deposit, withdrawal, transfer, payment, account opening, information inquiry and other services, including cash self-service bank devices (such as automatic teller machine, automatic deposit machine, automatic deposit and withdrawal machine, and foreign currency exchange machine) and non-cash self-service bank devices (such as inquiry machines, ticket printer, and card-issuing machine)
3.3.1
front-loading mode
application mode where the cash box opening side of the self-service bank device is in the same direction with its customer operating panel
3.3.2
rear-loading mode
application mode where the cash box opening side of the self-service bank device is in the reverse direction with its customer operating panel
3.3.3
in-hall mode
application mode where self-service bank device is arranged in the customer waiting and servicing area in banking business area or the public area of a building outside of banking business area
3.3.4
through-the-wall mode
application mode where self-service bank device is arranged in the building, with customer operating panel passing through the wall
3.4
self-service bank
independent physical space consisting of self-service bank device, customer waiting and servicing area, customer operating area, cash replenishment room, etc. for customers to complete deposit, withdrawal, transfer, payment and information inquiry and other services by themselves
3.4.1
bank self-service kiosk
independent device consisting of a base, top slab, side slab, etc., which is independent of any building; the customer uses the self-service bank device thereof to complete deposit, withdrawal, transfer, payment, information inquiry, etc.; it is also a special application mode of off-bank self-service bank
