Felting needle is the key accessory of needle loom. There are many manufacturers in China with insufficient mutual communication, and there is no uniform standard constraint. Therefore, this standard is formulated according to the requirements of the industry standard revision plan of the Technical Equipment Department of China National Textile Council in 1994.
According to the actual use requirements in China and referring to the relevant parameters of similar products such as GROZ-BECKERT and FORSTER-NEEDLE, this standard makes a series of regulations on the product representation method, main technical parameters and technical requirements of felting needles, so as to further improve and stabilize the product quality of domestic needles.
Triangular needles are the main products of this standard. Flat needles, star needles, fork needles and special-shaped needles have not been produced on a large scale in China at present, so they have not been specified in detail, and will be supplemented when the standard is revised in the future.
This standard was proposed by Technical Equipment Department of China National Textile Council.
This standard is under jurisdiction of Shanghai Textile Machinery Research Institute.
Felting needles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms, code, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of felting needles (hereinafter referred to as needles).
This standard is applicable to triangular needles for nonwoven needle looms, and other styles of needles used on nonwoven needle looms may also be referred to.

3.2 Styles
According to the structural characteristics, needles may be divided into the following styles:
a) Triangular needle (the working part section is a regular triangle);
b) Flat needle;
c) Star needle;
d) Fork needle;
e) Conical needle;
f) Other special-shaped needles.
