Stainless steel wire ropes
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, dimensions, mass, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certification of stainless steel wire ropes.
This standard is applicable to stainless corrosion-resistant steel wire ropes (hereinafter referred to as "steel wire ropes") used in purposes of instrument and mechanical transmission, stay rope, slung, shock absorber damping, etc.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 8706 apply.
4 Classification and labeling
4.1 Classification
The steel wire ropes are classified by construction; typical constructions are listed in Table 1 and construction diagrams are given in Annex A. Through the negotiation between the supply and demand parties, steel wire ropes with other construction and specification may be fabricated.
