3.3
rigid glass wool product
glass wool product with certain mechanical strength
3.4
formaldehyde free glass wool product
glass wool product made by adding formaldehyde-free thermosetting binder
3.5

4 Classification and designation
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Glass wool is classified into loose glass wool, normal glass wool product, glass wool product used in high temperature, and rigid glass wool product depending on its application.
4.1.2 Normal glass wool products are classified into normal glass wool board, normal glass wool blanket, normal glass wool unbonded blanket and normal glass wool pipe sections depending on their forms, which are hereinafter referred to as glass wool board, glass wool blanket, glass wool unbonded blanket and glass wool pipe sections, respectively.
4.1.3 Glass wool products used in high temperature are classified into glass wool board used in high temperature, glass wool blanket used in high temperature and glass wool pipe sections used in high temperature depending on their forms.
4.1.4 Rigid glass wool products are classified into rigid glass wool board and rigid glass wool lamella depending on their forms, among which the rigid glass lamella is hereinafter referred to as glass wool lamella.
4.2 Product designation
The product designation consists of two parts: the product technical characteristics and the serial number of this standard.
The product technical characteristics consist of the following parts:
a) Product name. If the name contains the words "formaldehyde free" and "hydrophobic", then the products are considered to be formaldehyde free glass wool products and hydrophobic glass wool products respectively;
b) A number indicating the nominal density of the product, expressed in kg/m3, followed by "-";
c) For glass wool products used in high temperature, the evaluated temperature of their maximum use temperature shall be given additionally in brackets. If there is no such mark, it is considered that the evaluated temperature of the maximum use temperature is 350℃;
d) The numbers indicating the size of the product. Specifically, boards, blankets, unbonded blankets and lamellae are represented by "length × width × thickness", and the pipe sections are represented by "inner diameter × length × thickness", which are all expressed in millimeters (mm);
e) Classification for burning behavior;
f) Manufacturer marks, such as veneers, which are separated from each other by commas and given in parentheses.
Example 1: normal glass wool blankets with a nominal density of 12kg/m3, length × width × thickness of 20,000mm × 600mm × 75mm, covered with aluminum foil, nominal burning behavior class A (A1), are designated as:
Glass wool blanket 12-20,000×600×75 A(A1) (aluminum foil) GB/T 13350-2017
Example 2: normal hydrophobic glass wool boards with a nominal density of 32kg/m3, length × width × thickness of 1,200mm × 600mm × 50mm, nominal burning behavior class A(A2), are designated as:
Hydrophobic glass wool board 32-1,200×600×50 A(A2) GB/T 13350-2017
Example 3: glass wool blankets used in high temperature with a nominal density of 48kg/m3, a maximum use temperature of 400℃, length × width × thickness of 1,200mm × 600mm × 50mm, are designated as:
Glass wool blanket used in high temperature 48-(400℃) 1,200×600×50 A(A1) GB/T 13350-2017
Example 4: rigid glass wool boards with a nominal density of 64kg/m3, length × width × thickness of 1,200mm×600mm×25mm, nominal burning behavior class A(A2), are designated as:
Rigid glass wool board 64-1,200×600×25 A(A2) GB/T 13350-2017
