1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, apparatus, specimens, test procedures, result calculation and test report of test method for hydrophobic nature of thermal insulation.
This standard applies to mineral wool, perlite, calcium metasilicate, silicate and other thermal insulation materials and products. Other thermal insulation materials with hydrophobic requirements may also refer to this standard.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated reference, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced documents (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 4132 Definitions of terms relating to thermal insulating materials
GB/T 5486-2008 Test methods for inorganic rigid thermal insulation
3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 4132 and the following apply.
3.1
hydrophobic nature rate
volume percentage of the specimen that is not occupied by water after being sprayed by a certain flow of water in a specified way
3.2
hydrophobic nature
performance index that reflects the water penetration resistance of materials, expressed by hydrophobic nature
4 Principle
The specimen is placed at an angle of 45° to the horizontal, and the center of the specimen is located at a given position below the nozzle, spray the specimen with a certain flow of water for a specified time, and then measure the change of specimen quality before and after spraying, so as to calculate the volume percentage of the specimen that is not occupied by water.
