This standard is a revision of GB 50414-2007 Code of design on fire protection and prevention for iron & steel metallurgy enterprises and was developed by Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. and SURELAND jointly with the organizations concerned according to the requirements of Notice on printing and distributing the development and revision plan on engineering construction standards and codes in 2012 (JIANBIAO [2012] No. 5) issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
During revision of this standard, the revision team followed relevant national laws, regulations and technical standards and made the following work, including conducting extensive and in-depth investigation and study, summarizing lessons of fire accidents in metallurgy enterprises and the practical experience of fire protection design, making a reference to relevant standards at home and abroad, absorbing scientific research achievements, extensively soliciting opinions from relevant departments and units for scientific research, design, production, fire supervision and colleges and universities etc., and completing the draft of the standard for approval. It submitted the draft to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development for review and finalization.
This standard consists of 10 clauses and 2 annexes, mainly including: general provisions, terms, classification of fire hazards, fire resistance class and fire compartment, general layout, safe evacuation and building construction, process system, automatic fire alarm system, fire water supply and fire extinguishing equipment, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, smoke control and smoke exhaust, electric system, etc.
The following main contents have been revised:
1. Classification of fire hazards for produced and stored products is supplemented.
2. The fire protection design requirements of pulverized coal system, coal grinding and coal injection system, pulverized coal preparation and oxygen content in pulverized coal injection system are supplemented.
3. The setting requirements of automatic fire extinguishing system in the original code have been adjusted.
4. The design requirements of water mist fire extinguishing system in Annex B of the original code have been canceled, and the relevant contents are in accordance with the current national standard GB 50898 Technical code for water mist fire extinguishing system.
The provisions printed in bold type in this standard are compulsory and must be enforced strictly.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of this standard and the interpretation of the compulsory provisions; Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. is responsible for the interpretation of specific technical contents. All units are kindly requested to sum up experience and accumulate data in the process of implementing this standard, and send opinions and relevant data to Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (Recipient: Management Group of National Standard for fire protection design of iron and steel metallurgy enterprises. Address: No.7 Jian'an Street, Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, 100176, China) for reference in future revision.
Standard for fire protection design of iron and steel metallurgy enterprises
1 General provisions
