1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods and marking of antibacterial and eliminating bacterial function for household and similar electrical dish washers (hereinafter referred to as "dish washer").
This standard is applicable to household and similar dish washers with antibacterial and eliminating bacterial function, as indicated on the appliance or in the instructions for use.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions specified in GB 21551.1 as well as the followings apply.
3.1
dish washer
appliance used to clean and rinse the dish, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils using chemical, mechanical, thermal, and electric energy, and it may or may not be subject to drying operation at the end of the program
3.2
antibacterial
process of killing microorganisms or hindering their growth and reproduction and their activity by chemical, physical and other methods, which is classified into two types of processes: antibacterial and antifungal (also known as mildew prevention).
3.3
eliminating bacterial
process of eliminating or reducing the microorganisms on the action object by chemical and physical methods.
3.4
preventing mildew level
mildew-growing level is used to indicate the mildew preventing effect in the preventing mildew test.
3.5
eliminating bacterial activity
the difference between the logarithmic values of the viable counts of the specific microorganism recovered by the action object before and after the eliminating bacterial test
3.6
place settings
private sets of chinaware, glassware and cutlery
3.7
serving pieces
sets of chinaware and cutlery applied to public service as required

4 Requirements
4.1 Antibacterial performance
For dish washer with antibacterial function, the antibacterial rate of antibacterial parts shall not be less than 99.0% or the preventing mildew level is Level 0 or 1.
Antibacterial is only evaluated for materials used in appliances.
4.2 Eliminating bacterial performance
For the dish washer with eliminating bacterial function, the eliminating bacterial rate shall not be less than 99.9% (namely, the eliminating bacterial activity shall not be less than 3.0).
5 Test methods
5.1 Test environment
The environment of laboratory shall meet the relevant requirements of GB 19489.
5.2 Antibacterial test method
5.2.1 For non-water-absorbing antibacterial parts which may be made into a certain area, the test shall be carried out according to the method of GB 21551.2-2010, Annex A.
5.2.2 For water-absorbing antibacterial parts which may be made into a certain area, the test shall be carried out according to the method of GB 21551.2-2010, Annex B.
5.2.3 For antibacterial parts with irregular shapes, see Annex A hereof.
5.2.4 For parts with preventing mildew (antifungal) function, the test shall be carried out according to the method of GB 21551.2-2010, Annex C.
5.3 Eliminating bacterial test method
See Annex B for eliminating bacterial method.
6 Marking
6.1 Principles, requirements and contents of marking
Principles, requirements and content of marking shall be in accordance with GB 5296.2 and GB 21551.1.
6.2 Use of antibacterial and eliminating bacterial signs
For dish washer meeting the requirements of 4.1, “antibacterial” may be marked on the product and packaging box.
For dish washer meeting the requirements of 4.2, “eliminating bacterial” may be marked on the product and packaging box.
