3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 18920, GB/T 18921 , GB/T 19223, GB/T 19923 .GB 20922 .GB/T 21534 defined as well as the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Mine water
The water produced by the collection of underground gushing water, surface infiltration water and production drainage water during the process of mine construction and mining.
3.2
Miscellaneous watermiscellancous water
Used for toilet flushing, road cleaning, fire-fighting, urban greening, vehicle washing, building construction and other non-potable water that does not come into close contact with the human body.
3.3
Ecological environmental water
Water used for river and lake replenishment, wetland replenishment, the creation of urban landscape water bodies and a variety of waterscape structures.
4 Basic requirements
4.1 Considering the water quality, technical feasibility and economic rationality of mine water, the comprehensive use of mine water should follow the principle of using it as much as possible, mainly for industrial water, miscellaneous water. It should be used mainly for industrial water, miscellaneous water, water for ecological environment, irrigation water for farmland and drinking water.
4.2 Mine water may be used for domestic drinking water if it has been approved by the relevant local authorities and if it has been treated to meet the requirements of GB5749.
4.3 Mine water with a total a radioactivity content of less than 0.5 Bg/L and a total beta radioactivity content of less than 1 Bq/L may be used.
4.4 According to the water quality and quantity of mine water, the mine water should be separated, treated and utilised in a graded manner.
4.5 Combined with the water quality and utilization of mine water, treatment equipment should be selected in accordance with GB/T19249.HJ579, HJ2006, etc.
4.6 The sludge produced after mine water treatment should be used reasonably or disposed of properly in accordance with the requirements of GB18597, GB18598 and GB18599.
4.7 Membrane concentrated water should be treated by multi-effect evaporator or steam mechanical recompression swallowers (MVR), etc. The by-product salts conforming to GB/T 5462 and GB/T6009 should be sold as products, and the waste salts not conforming to the standard should be disposed of in accordance with GB18597, GB18598 and GB18599 relevant provisions of solid waste management.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Basic process of treatment and utilisation
The basic process of comprehensive utilization of mine water is shown in Figure 1.
5.2 Mine water quality testing and requirements
Mine water quality testing and requirements are shown in Table 1. Mine water quality testing and requirements for water treatment at the mine water level are implemented in accordance with Table 1.
5.3 Technical requirements for use
5.3.1 Acid mine water utilisation technology
Acid mine water utilisation technology is implemented in accordance with GB/T 37764.
5.3.2 Utilisation techniques for mine water containing suspended matter
Techniques for the use of mine water containing suspended matter should meet the following requirements:
a) Coagulation and sedimentation/clarification-filtration techniques are preferred;
b) Pre-sedimentation tanks should be installed prior to the purification process;
c) common coagulants for mine water containing suspended matter mainly include iron-based coagulants and aluminium-based coagulants, with coagulant aids where necessary.

5.3.4 Utilisation techniques for mine water containing special contaminants
Mine water utilisation techniques for mines containing special contaminants should meet the following requirements:
a) For the comprehensive use of mine water containing iron and manganese, it is advisable to use air oxidation, chemical oxidation and contact oxidation technologies for iron removal.
Chemical oxidation or contact oxidation plus iron and manganese removal filter technology should be used, the basic process flow is shown in A.2.3 and A.2.4.
b) For comprehensive use of mine water containing fluoride, it is advisable to use pre-sedimentation, a mixed coagulation and precipitation, and filtration, adsorption/ion exchange/membrane separation technology, see A.3 for the basic process flow.
c) When the water from mines containing heavy metals is used for industrial water, it is advisable to use pre-sedimentation, chemical precipitation, filtration, adsorption, ion exchange, membrane separation and electrochemical treatment technology.
