0.1 Principle
This standard gives the technical requirements of non-steel wire rope suspension means for lifts on the premise of at least achieving the same safety of steel wire rope suspension means for lifts.
0.2 Assumptions
0.2.1 In addition to the requirements of this standard, lifts using non-steel wire rope suspension devices shall meet the relevant requirements of GB 7588 or GB/T 21739.
0.2.2 The supplier and the purchaser have negotiated and reached an agreement on the following contents:
a) Intended use of lift;
b) Ambient conditions, such as temperature, humidity and exposure to sunlight, wind, snow or corrosive air;
c) Other matters related to the installation site.
Non-steel wire rope suspension means for lifts
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, inspection, test, inspection rules and acceptance concerning non-steel wire rope suspension means for lifts.
This standard is applicable to non-steel wire rope suspension means involved in traction drive lifts, with steel wire ropes or non-metal materials as load-bearing members. For non-steel wire rope suspension means of other new materials or structures, this standard may be used as a reference, and the inapplicable parts shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through negotiation.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 7588 and the following apply.
3.1 non-steel wire rope suspension means
suspension means for lifts except the steel wire rope suspension means, comprised of coated ropes, coated belts and termination devices thereof
3.2 load-bearing member
components in a coated rope or belt that bear breaking force
3.3 coated rope
rope-shaped combined construction in which one or more layers of non-metal materials wrap a single load-bearing member
3.4 coated belt
banded combined construction in which one or more layers of non-metal materials wrap multiple load-bearing members
3.5 coating
non-metal material wrapping the load-bearing member
3.6 minimum breaking force
a specified value which the breaking force measured using the specified method shall not be below

4 Classification
4.1 Coated rope
4.1.1 Type
A coated rope shall be rope-shaped construction, which is expressed by R. See Annex A for the specifications of coated ropes.
4.1.2 Construction
A coated rope shall be composed of load-bearing member and coating. See Figure 1 for the schematic diagram for the cross section of a common coated rope.

4.1.3 Designation
The designation of coated rope consists of the following contents:

A coated rope with a nominal diameter of 6.5mm, containing coating made of TPU, load-bearing member with a nominal diameter of 5.0mm and made of M, and with a minimum breaking force of 28.0kN, is designated as:

4.2 Coated belt
4.2.1 Types
A coated belt shall be a banded construction, which is expressed by B. Coated belt types are classified into flat type (BF) and tooth type (BT). See Annex A for the specifications of coated belts.
4.2.2 Construction
4.2.2.1 When the cross section of load-bearing member is circular, the coated belt shall be composed of load-bearing member and coating. See Figure 2 for the schematic diagram for the cross section of a common coated belt.

4.2.2.2 When the cross section of load-bearing member is noncircular, the coated belt shall be composed of load-bearing member and coating. See Figure 3 for the schematic diagram for the cross section of a common coated belt.

4.2.3 Designation
The designation of coated belt consists of the following contents:

A coated rope with a nominal width of 30mm and a nominal thickness of 3.3mm, containing 10 load-bearing members with a nominal diameter of 2mm and made of M, and coating made of TPU, and with a minimum breaking force of 43kN, is designated as:

Example 2:
A coated belt with a nominal width of 25mm and a nominal thickness of 4.5mm, containing 4 load-bearing members with a nominal width of 5mm and a nominal thickness of 2.5mm and made of N, coating made of TPU, and with a minimum breaking force of 110kN, is designated as:

5 Technical requirements
5.1 Load-bearing member
5.1.1 Tensile strength
The nominal tensile strength shall be in the range of 1,570N/mm2 to 3,500N/mm2.
The nominal tensile strength shall be the lower limit of tensile strength of load-bearing member, and the deviation of tensile strength shall not exceed 390N/mm2.
Note: When the load-bearing member is made of metal material such as steel wire, the tensile strength refers to the tensile strength of the steel wire. When the load-bearing member is made of non-metal material, the tensile strength refers to the tensile strength of a single load-bearing member. For example, the nominal tensile strength of load-bearing member is 2,400N/mm2, while its upper limit of tensile strength is 2,790N/mm2.
5.1.2 Surface treatment
For metal load-bearing members, the metal wire shall be subjected to anti-corrosion treatment.
5.1.3 Joints
For metal load-bearing members, the metal wire shall have no joints.
