1 Scope
This standard specifies the terminologies and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection procedure, inspection rules, marking, operating instructions, packaging, transportation and storage, etc. of metal furniture.
This standard is applicable to the general technical requirements of metal furniture with the main structure of metal material, and may be referred by other furniture with metal material parts. When specific product standard is available, the requirements of relevant product standard shall be met.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply.

Metal furniture
The furniture with the frame or component parts mainly of metal tubes, plates and other section materials, and with the parts made of wood, wood-based panel, leather, textile fabric, plastics, glass, stones and other auxiliary materials, or the furniture fully made of metal materials.
