This standard replaces GB 28232-2011 Safety and sanitation standard for ozone generator, and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB 28232-2011:
——The normative references are modified;
——The terms "power supply unit", "electrode", "dielectric tube (plate)", "dielectric strength" and "corona discharge" are deleted, and the definitions of "ozone-water mixing equipment" and "monitoring device" are added.
——The contents of "Specifications and classification" and "Names and models" that do not fall in the requirements of product safety and sanitation are deleted;
——The "Raw material requirements" is separated from the technical requirements and given in separate clause, with the raw material requirements related to ozone quality added;
——The disinfection requirements in the "Technical requirements" is adjusted to the application methods; the basic working conditions, performance requirements and technical requirements for by-products, leakage and residual quantity are listed respectively according to the ozone generation method, the requirements for disinfection effect are listed respectively according to the disinfection objects, and the requirements for toxicological safety are deleted;
——Contents about disinfection of tableware (drinkware), food processing pipelines, medical devices and medical supplies are added in the "Applicable scope";
——Contents about disinfection methods for tableware (drinkware), food processing pipelines, medical devices and medical supplies are added;

Hygienic requirements for ozone disinfector
1 Scope
This standard specifies the raw material requirements, technical requirements, application scope, application methods, inspection methods, transport and storage, nameplate and operation instructions of ozone disinfector.
This standard is applicable to ozone disinfectors that produce ozone through dielectric barrier discharge, ultraviolet radiation and electrolyzing.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
ozone generation unit
most basic components assembled for generating ozone
3.2
ozone generator
device necessary to produce ozone by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), ultraviolet radiation, or electrolyzing
3.3
ozone disinfector
all devices necessary to use the ozone produced by the ozone generator for disinfection by means of using gas or water as a carrier
3.4
ozone-water mixing equipment
device that mixes ozone gas with water to dissolve ozone in water
3.5
monitoring device
device for monitoring the ozone concentration in water/air and manually or automatically adjusting and controlling the ozone concentration, including on-site monitoring and control equipment, on-site data collector and data processing center
3.6
ozone concentration
mass of ozone per unit volume of gas or water produced by the ozone generator

4 Raw material requirements
4.1 Ozone generator
4.1.1 Dielectric-barrier discharge type
4.1.1.1 Medium and materials
Ozone-resistant materials shall be used for the medium and electrode materials of the ozone generation unit to ensure the long-term stable operation of the unit under discharge conditions and in ozone environment.
4.1.1.2 Gas sources
4.1.1.2.1 The gas sources of ozone generator shall meet those specified in Table 1.

4.1.1.2.2 A filtering apparatus with the pore diameter of filter membrane ≤0.1μm shall be installed at the air-inlet end of the ozone generator.
4.1.1.3 Cooling system
4.1.1.3.1 If air is used as the cooling method of the ozone generator, the relative humidity of the cooling air shall be ≤85%.
4.1.1.3.2 If water is used as the cooling method of the ozone generator, the cooling water directly cooling the ozone generator shall meet the followings: 6.5≤pH≤8.5, chloride content ≤250mg/L, total hardness (by CaCO3) ≤450mg/L, and turbidity (nephelometric turbidity unit) ≤1 NTU.
4.1.2 Ultraviolet radiation type
4.1.2.1 UV lamp tube shall be made of quartz glass or raw material with equivalent UV transmittance.
4.1.2.2 The initial ozone production efficiency of the ozone ultraviolet germicidal lamp shall not be lower than 80% of the marked value, and shall meet the requirements of GB/T 19258.
4.1.3 Electrolyzing type
4.1.3.1 Ozone-resistant polymer or metallic material shall be selected as the material of the electrolytic reaction tank; proton exchange membrane as well as precious metal and its alloy shall be selected as the material of the membrane electrode.
4.1.3.2 Deionized water with conductivity ≤5μS/cm shall be used as the gas-generation source.
4.2 Components of ozone disinfector
Ozone-resistant materials shall be used for components in contact with ozone to ensure the long-term stable operation of the ozone disinfector in ozone environment.
4.3 Ozone-water mixing equipment
4.3.1 Ozone-water mixing elements with low energy consumption and high air-dissolved efficiency shall be used, and the air-dissolved efficiency shall be ≥50%.
4.3.2 An ozone-water separation device shall be provided to separate undissolved gaseous ozone, and an ozone tail gas decomposition device shall be provided to decompose the separated ozone gas.
4.4 Monitoring device
4.4.1 The ozone concentration should be monitored online, so as to control the ozone concentration in gas or water within the range required by process design.
4.4.2 The ozone concentration in the air of the place where the equipment works shall be monitored to prevent ozone leakage. If the ozone concentration in the air exceeds the limits specified in GBZ 2.1 under a manned state, the device shall alarm and shut down the disinfector immediately.
4.4.3 The data storage and printing functions should be provided.
