Flame resistance of commercial bus interior materials
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, test method, and requirements for implementation transitional period of flame resistance of commercial bus interior materials.
This document is applicable to the evaluation of flame resistance of commercial bus interior materials of Category M2 and Classes B and III of Category M3.
This document is applicable to school buses.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 15089 and JT/T 1094 and the following apply.

oxygen index
minimum oxygen concentration for maintaining the material combustion when oxygen-nitrogen mixture is introduced at 23℃±2℃ under the specified test conditions, expressed by volume fraction

density of smoke
measure of the smoke amount emitted by a material under specified test conditions, expressed by the attenuation of light intensity transmitted through the smoke

smoke toxicity
degree of damage/harm caused by toxic and hazardous substances in the smoke

melting behaviour
failure of showing phenomena such as molten drop and foaming of materials when affected by thermal radiation

capability to repel fuel or lubricant
ability of materials to keep from being soaked under the action of contact with fuel oil

commercial bus interior materials
single material or composite material used in commercial buses
Note: The commercial bus interior materials do not cover electric parts (electrical modules such as air conditioner assembly control switch, wire harnesses, electrical control panel, navigator, radio receiver, DVD module, and driving combination instrument), lighting, steering wheel, air bags (curtains), vehicle body damping mat and sandwich panels with metallic outer layer and non-metallic inner layer.
