GBZ 117-2022 Standard for radiological protection in industrial radiography English
1 Scope
This standard specifies the radiological protection requirements for X-ray and γ-ray radiography.
This standard is applicable to the defect detecting (including stationary defect detecting and mobile defect detecting) using X-ray radiography facilities and γ-ray radiography facilities of 600kV and below, and also serves as reference for industrial CT radiography and non-destructive testing within the same radiation source range for non-radiography purposes.
This standard is not applicable to industry radiography carried out by accelerators and neutron radiography facilities.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
industry radiography
method of irradiating and imaging an object with rays to check its internal defects
3.2
X-ray radiography facilities
general term for facilities for X-ray photography or tomography of the internal structure of an object, including X-ray tube head assembly, control box and connecting cable
Note: X-ray radiography facilities may be classified into directional type and circumferential type according to X-ray emission direction and window range, and may be classified into fixed type and mobile type according to installation form.
3.3
γ-ray radiography facilities
facilities for detecting the internal defects of an object using γ-ray emitted by a sealed radioactive source, including a source container and its accessories
Note: γ-ray radiography facilities may be classified as follows according to the mobility of the source container:
——portable γ-ray radiography facilities (Class P), of which, the source container is easy to handle manually and has a mass of not exceeding 50kg;
——mobile γ-ray radiography facilities (Class M), of which, the source container may be easily moved with appropriate tools;
——fixed γ-ray radiography facilities (Class F), of which, the source container is fixed or can only be moved in a limited way within a specific area.

method for checking the internal defects of objects by irradiating and imaging with rays generated by fixed or limited radiography facilities in radiography rooms
