3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
electrochemical energy storage system
a system in which electrochemical cells are used as energy storage carriers and recyclable electric energy is stored and released through a power conversion system
Note: It generally includes battery system, power conversion system and related auxiliary facilities. For electrochemical energy storage systems connected to a voltage class of 10(6) kV and above, they usually include collecting lines, step-up transformers, etc.
3.2
power conversion system
a device that connects the battery system with the power grid (and/or load) to realize bidirectional conversion of power
3.3
point of interconnection
for an energy storage system with a step-up transformer, point of interconnection refers to the bus or node on the high voltage side of the step-up transformer. For an energy storage system without step-up transformer, point of interconnection refers to the output summary point of the energy storage system
Note: See Annex A for the illustration of point of common coupling.
3.4
point of common coupling
A point where energy storage system connects to the public power grid
Note: See Annex A for the illustration of point of common coupling.
3.5
hot standby state
a state when energy storage system is in condition to run, the equipment protection and automatic devices are in normal running state, and the energy exchange with the power grid can be realized by issuing control instructions to the energy storage system
3.6
response time for charging
the time for the energy storage system to change from the hot standby state to charging after it receives the control signal until the charging power reaches 90% of the rated power PN for the first time
See Figure 1.
Figure 1 Response time for charging
3.7
regulation time for charging
the time for the energy storage system to change from the hot standby state to charging after it receives the control signal until the charging power reaches the rated power PN and the power deviation starts to be controlled within ±2% of the rated power PN
See Figure 2.
Figure 2 Regulation time for charging
3.8
response time for discharging
the time for the energy storage system to change from the hot standby state to discharging after it receives the control signal until the discharging power reaches 90% of the rated power PN for the first time
See Figure 3.
Figure 3 Response time for discharging
3.9
regulation time for discharging
the time for the energy storage system to change from the hot standby state to discharging after it receives the control signal until the discharging power reaches the rated power PN and the power deviation starts to be controlled within ±2% of the rated power PN
