GB/T 34484 consists of two parts under the general title Heat-treatable steels:
——Part 1: Non-alloy steels;
——Part 2: Alloy steels for quenching and tempering.
This part is Part 1 of GB/T 34484.
This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part is redrafted and modified in relation to ISO 683-1:2016 Heat-treatable steels, alloy steels and free-cutting steels—Part 1: Non-alloy steels for quenching and tempering.
This part is changed from ISO 683-1:2016 in structure; the cross-reference table for clause and article numbers of this part and ISO 683-1:2016 is given in Annex A.
Technical changes have been made in this part with respect to ISO 683-1:2016, and are marked with a vertical singlet (|) at the margin of relevant clauses; see Annex B for the list of technical differences and their causes.
For the convenience of use, the following editorial changes are made in this part:
——The standard is renamed as Heat-treatable steels—Part 1: Non-alloy steels;
——Bibliography in ISO 683-1:2016 is deleted.
This part was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Iron and Steel of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183).
Heat-treatable steels—
Part 1: Non-alloy steels
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 34484 specifies the classification and designation, order contents, dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of heat-treatable non-alloy steels.
This part is applicable to rolled rods and bars (hereinafter referred to as steels) with nominal diameter or thickness not greater than 310 mm.
