1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method principle, instruments and materials, determination procedures, result calculation and the like for determining cement density.
This standard is applicable to the determination of cement density as well as other powdered material density required to use this method.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following term and definition apply.
3.1
cement density
mass of cement per unit volume
4 Test Method Principle
Cement with a certain amount of mass is poured into a Le chatelier flask filled with a sufficient amount of liquid medium. The volume of the liquid shall be sufficient to infiltrate the cement particles. According to Archimedes' law, the volume of cement particles is equal to that of liquid it displaces, and so the mass of cement per unit volume is calculated, namely density. During the test, anhydrous kerosine or other liquids that will not react with cement shall be adopted as liquid medium.
