GB/T 19879-2023 Steel plates for building structure
1 Scope
This document specifies the designation expression methods, order contents, dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of steel plate for building structure.
This document is applicable to the manufacture of high-performance hot-rolled steel plates (hereinafter referred to as steel plates) with a thickness of 6 mm to 200 mm for building structures, long-span structures and other steel structures.
It may also apply to hot-rolled steel strips by reference.

4 Designation expression methods
Steel designation is composed of four parts: Q (the Chinese phonetic alphabet representing yield strength), the specified minimum yield strength, GJ (the Chinese phonetic alphabet representing steel for high performance building structure, and the quality grade symbol (B, C, D and E).
Example: Q355GJC
Q - Chinese phonetic alphabet representing yield strength;
355 - specified minimum yield strength;
GJ - high performance building structure;
C - quality grade symbol.
For steel plate with through-thickness property, the designation shall be followed by the through-thickness property level (Z15, Z25 or Z35).
Example: Q355GJCZ25
