Centrifugal refrigerant compressors
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, tests, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of centrifugal refrigerant compressors and centrifugal refrigerant compressor units.
This standard is applicable to centrifugal refrigerant compressors [hereinafter referred to as "compressor(s)"] and centrifugal refrigerant compressor units [hereinafter referred to as "compressor unit(s)"] for air conditioning purposes, and centrifugal refrigerant compressors and centrifugal refrigerant compressor units for other purposes may refer to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in JB/T 7249 and the following apply.
3.1
centrifugal refrigerant compressor
compressor that works on refrigerant vapour via impeller to increase the pressure and velocity of the refrigerant vapour, and then converts kinetic energy into pressure energy in the diffuser, driving the refrigerant vapour through the impeller in the radial direction
3.2
centrifugal refrigerant compressor unit
unit assembled with centrifugal refrigerant compressor, prime mover and other accessories for compressing refrigerant vapour
3.3
surging
instability phenomenon during the operation of a compressor (unit), characterized by the large fluctuation of refrigerant vapour flow with time, accompanied by strong vibration and noise
3.4
choking
instability phenomenon during the operation of a compressor (unit), characterized by aerodynamic blockage, where the refrigerant vapour flow no longer increases with the action of the regulating mechanism
3.5
refrigeration capacity
measured mass flow of refrigerant flowing through the evaporator in refrigeration cycle of the compressor (unit) multiplied by the difference between the specific enthalpy of refrigerant gas at compressor (unit) suction port and that of refrigerant liquid before evaporator expansion in refrigeration cycle of the compressor (unit) under the specified refrigerating capacity test conditions, expressed in watts (W)
3.6
heating capacity
measured mass flow of refrigerant flowing through the exhaust side of the compressor (unit) multiplied by the difference between the specific enthalpy of refrigerant gas at compressor (unit) exhaust port and that of refrigerant liquid before evaporator (air compensating circuit) expansion in refrigeration cycle of the compressor (unit) under the specified heating capacity test conditions, expressed in watts (W)
3.7
cooling (heating) coefficient of performance
ratio of refrigeration (heating) capacity of compressor (unit) to input power, expressed in watts per watt (W/W)
