Test methods of the interturn insulation on random wound winding for AC low-voltage machines
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test methods of the interturn insulation on random wound winding for AC low-voltage machines.
This standard is applicable to the detection of interturn insulation on random wound winding for three-phase or single-phase AC low-voltage machines with a rated voltage of 1,140V and below.

3 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
3.1 impulse waveform comparison method
method to test the interturn insulation of machine winding (or coil) through impulse voltage.
Apply the impulse voltage wave with the specified peak and front time alternately (or simultaneously) directly to the tested winding (or coil) and the reference winding (or coil) with the same design, and use the method whether there is a difference in the damped oscillation waveform caused by the impulse voltage to detect whether the interturn insulation of machine winding (or coil) is in good condition.
