In addition to a number of editorial changes, the following technical deviations have been made with respect to GB/T 23332-2009 (the previous edition): — The scope of application of this standard is modified (see Clause 1; Clause 1 in Edition 2009); — GB/T 23119, GB 21551.2, GB/T 7477 and other standards are added; GB/T 13306, GB/T 2829 and other standards are deleted (see Clause 2; Clause 2 in Edition 2009); — The definitions of “evaporative humidifier” and “electrical heating humidifier” are modified (see 3.1.2 and 3.1.3; 3.3 and 3.4 in Edition 2009); terms and definitions of “water hardness”, “primary hardness”, “outlet water hardness”, “lightwave humidifier”, “ordinary humidifier”, “auto-control humidifier”, “main unit”, “water tank”, “openable water tank”, “airtight water tank”, “water level protection function” and “evaporating wick lifetime” are deleted (see 3.5, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, 3.14, 3.15, 3.18, 3.19, 3.21, 3.22, 3.23); and the definition of “multifunctional humidifier” is added (see 3.1.5); — The classification and designation of humidifiers are modified (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of Edition 2009); — The note on conditions of use, the provisions of water softener and water level protection function, durability, antibacterial and anti-mildew, as well as the limits and water tank capacity are added (see 5.1, 5.8, 5.9, 5.11 and 5.12); the conditions for use of water, the requirements for product manufacturing procedures specified in the "General requirements", commissioning requirements, water level indication (display), service life of evaporative core (device), replacement warning of evaporation core (device), humidity display error, water softener function requirements, packaging protection function are deleted (See 5.1.2, 5.2.1, 5.5, 5.10, 5.11, 5.12, 5.13, 5.15 and 5.16 in Edition 2009); the appearance requirements (see 5.4; 5.4 in Edition 2009), humidification requirements (see 5.5; 5.6 in Edition 2009) , "humidification efficiency" level of different types of humidifier (see 5.6; 5.7 in Edition 2009) and noise limit (see 5.7; 5.8 in Edition 2009) are modified; — The test methods for water softener and water level protection function, durability, antibacterial, anti-mildew and sterilization, water tank capacity are added (see 6.8, 6.9, 6.11 and 6.13); trial operation test, water level indication (display), service life of evaporation core (device), replacement warning of evaporation core (device) , humidity display error, water softener function requirements, packaging protection function are deleted (see 6.5, 6.10, 6.11, 6.12, 6.13, 6.15 and 6.16 in Edition 2009); test conditions (See 6.1; 6.1 in Edition 2009), instrument conditions (see 6.2; 6.2 in Edition 2009), test methods for humidification efficiency (see 6.6; 6.7 in Edition 2009), and complete machine leakage test (see 6.10; 6.14 in Edition 2009) are modified; — The delivery inspection (see 7.2; 7.4 in Edition 2009) and Type inspection (see 7.3; 7.5 in Edition 2009) are modified; the inspection rules and inspection description (see 7.1 and 7.2 in Edition 2009) are deleted; — The requirements of “instructions” are modified (see8.3; 8.3 in Edition 2009); — "Specifications and Designation of Models" and "Test Methods for Dehumidification of Humidifiers" (see Annex A and Annex E); — The "Method for determining output of humidity” is modified (see Annex B; Annex A in Edition 2009) — The "test method of water softener performance" (see Annex D; Annex C in Edition 2009). This standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council. This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 46 (National Technical Committee 46 on Household Appliances Condenser of Standardization Administration of China). The previous edition replaced by this standard is as follows: — GB/T 23332-2009. Humidifiers 1 Scope This standard specifies terms and definitions, classification and designation, technical requirements, test method, inspection rules, marking, packaging, instructions, transport and storage of humidifiers. This standard is applicable to humidifiers for household and similar purposes. This standard is also applicable to the evaluation of the humidification function of similar appliances such as air purifiers or air conditioners with humidification function. Attention shall be drawn to that additional requirements may be necessary for humidifiers used under the following cases: — humidifier used on transport facilities (like vehicle, vessel, aircraft, etc.); This standard is not applicable to: — humidifier specially designed for industrial purposes; — humidifier used in special environment and/or site with corrosive or explosive gas (like dust, steam and methane gas); — humidifier used for medical purpose. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. Note: the conditions specified in the instructions, if any, shall prevail. 5.2 General requirements The main components shall be made of safe and harmless materials which are solid, durable and free from extraneous odor and generating secondary pollution. 5.3 Safety The humidifier shall comply with the requirements of GB 4706.1 and GB 4706.48. 5.4 Appearance The surface of the appliance shall be flat and smooth, uniform in color and aging-resistant, free from defects like crack, bubble and shrinkage cavity. 5.5 Output of humidity The measured output of humidity of the humidifier shall not be less than 90% of the rated value. 5.6 Efficiency of humidity The efficiency of humidity of humidifier shall be not inferior to Grade D. The efficiency of humidity is classified into Grade A, B, C and D (from high to low) and see Table 1 for the specific indexes. The tolerance between the measured value and the declared value shall not exceed +3dB, and the maximum tolerance shall not exceed the limit value.
