GB/T 21551.4-2024 Antimicrobial and cleaning function of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 4: Particular requirements for refrigerator
1 Scope
This document specifies hygienic safety and functional requirements, as well as marking requirements, for household and similar refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers, and freezers with antimicrobial, bactericidal and cleaning functions and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to the production, inspection and sales of household and similar refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers, and freezers that have one or more functions, e.g., antimicrobial, mold prevention, bactericidal, cleaning/deodorization (hereinafter referred to as “refrigerators”) .

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 21551.1, GB/T 8059 and the following apply.
3.1
cleaning
process of reducing or removing microbial metabolites such as bacteria and fungi and the volatile chemical gases (ethylene, TVOC, etc.) produced by stored items inside the refrigerator
3.2
cleaning rate
value of the reduced chemical gas concentration expressed as a percentage in the cleaning (3.1) test
3.3
deodorization rate
value of the reduced concentration of chemical gases causing olfactory discomfort expressed as a percentage in the deodorization test
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Hygienic safety requirements
4.1.1 Hygienic safety of the overall machine
When the refrigerator door is opened, ultraviolet ray, ozone and other generating devices shall stop working; if they cannot stop working, a description indicating that the use of the product will generate ultraviolet ray or ozone shall be provided.
Harmful substances produced by the refrigerator itself with antimicrobial, mold prevention, bactericidal, cleaning/deodorization devices shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
