1 Scope
This part of GB 21551 specifies the hygienic requirements, test methods and marking in aspects of anti-bacterial, significantly hindering fungus (mould) growth, and deodorization functions for household and similar refrigerator, refrigerator-freezer and freezer.
This part is applicable to the refrigerators with antibacterial function or those with antibacterial function and deodorization device simultaneously (hereinafter referred to as "antibacterial refrigerator").

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this part of GB 21551, the terms and definitions given in GB 21551.1-2008 and the following apply.
3.1
antibacterial
process of killing bacterium or hindering its growth, reproduction or activity by chemical, physical and other methods
3.2
deodorization
function of depressing and removing the unpleasant odor generated from volatilization of the metabolite of bacterium or fungus and the stored article
3.3
antibacterial materials
materials with the function of hindering the growth and reproduction of bacterium or making bacterium lose activity
