GB/T 18488-2024 Drive motor system for electric vehicles
1 Scope
This document specifies the model designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking and labeling of drive motor system for electric vehicles.
This document is applicable to drive motor system, drive motor and drive motor controller for electric vehicles.
This document may also apply to the vehicle motors with power generation function only and their controllers, etc. as a reference.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.25, GB/T 2900.33, GB/T 15089 and GB/T 19596 as well as the following apply.

drive motor
electrical device that converts electric energy into mechanical energy to provide driving force for vehicle, and also has the function of converting mechanical energy into electric energy

drive motor controller
device for controlling the transmission of energy between the power source and the drive motor
Note: It is composed of a control signal interface circuit, a drive motor control circuit, a drive circuit, a power electronic module, etc.

3.3
drive motor system
system installed on an electric vehicle to provide driving force for the vehicle and realize mutual conversion between mechanical energy and electric energy
Note: It is composed of a drive motor, a drive motor controller and auxiliary devices necessary for their operation, with the auxiliary devices comprising a transmission device integrated with the drive motor.

integrated drive motor system
drive motor system that integrates a combination of a drive motor, a drive motor controller, and auxiliary devices necessary for their operation
3.3.2
split drive motor system
drive motor system in which the drive motor and the drive motor controller are not integrated

DC bus voltage
voltage at the DC high voltage power terminal of the drive motor system

rated voltage
nominal voltage value of the DC bus

input & output characteristics
characteristics representing the relationship among torque, speed, power, efficiency, voltage, current and other parameters of the drive motor, drive motor controller or drive motor system

continuous torque
maximum mechanical torque at which the drive motor system can work continuously for a long period of time under specified conditions

continuous power
maximum mechanical power under which the drive motor system can work continuously for a long period of time under specified conditions
3.9
30min continuous torque
maximum mechanical torque at which the drive motor system can work continuously for 30min under specified conditions
3.10
30min continuous power
maximum mechanical power under which the drive motor system can work continuously for 30min under specified conditions

rated speed
maximum speed at which the drive motor system can output a continuous torque
3.12
maximum working speed
maximum speed that the drive motor system can reach under specified conditions
3.13
speed control accuracy
maximum steady deviation between the actual speed and the expected speed, or the percentage of this maximum steady deviation in the expected speed
3.14
torque control accuracy
maximum steady deviation between the actual speed and the expected torque, or the percentage of this maximum steady deviation in the expected torque
3.15
active discharge
process in which the DC bus capacitor discharges rapidly when the power supply at the DC bus terminal is cut off and the drive motor controller actively starts the discharge mechanism
3.16
passive discharge
process in which the DC bus capacitor discharges when the power supply at the DC bus terminal is cut off and the drive motor controller does not actively start the discharge mechanism

drive motor system efficiency
percentage of output power in input power of a drive motor system

drive motor controller current
current on each of the power lines connected to each phase of the drive motor when the drive motor controller is working normally

maximum value of drive motor controller current that can be achieved and withstood
