1.1 This part specifies technical requirements for design, manufacture, test methods, end-of-manufacturing inspection, coating, marking and identification, and periodic inspection items of the atmospheric pressure metal tank of road tanker for dangerous liquid goods (hereinafter referred to as "tank body").
1.2 This part is applicable to the tank body being used for loading and transporting the dangerous liquid goods, with working pressure less than 0.1 MPa, manufactured with metal material, and having permanent connection with finalized automobile chassis or semitrailer frame.
1.3 This part is applicable to the media given in Appendix A. As for the media beyond the scope of Appendix A, if their physical and chemical properties are similar to those listed in Appendix A, they also may be made reference to this part.
1.4 This part not applicable to the non-metal tank body, tank body of vacuum insulation structure or the tank body used for the military equipment having special requirements.
1.5 As for the tank body that shall not be designed according to this part, it is allowed to adopt the following methods for design, but they shall pass the assessment and confirmation of the unit approved by the national authority:
- Stress analysis, including finite element method;
- Replication experiment analysis (such as experimental stress analysis and replication hydraulic pressure test);
- Comparison experience design with comparable in-service structures.
