1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical specifications of single-circuit symmetrically-arranged bipolar HVDC overhead transmission line.
This standard is applicable to the HVDC overhead transmission line with nominal voltage of ±500kV (hereinafter referred to as "DC line"), and the DC lines of other voltage classes may be applied by making reference to this standard.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply.
3.1
Electric field effect
The action of electric field under a DC line to person, the feeling of person and the effect caused by impulse electric shock and other electric fields or ion current, which are characterized by such parameters as total field strength above ground, ion current density, space charge density, and induced DC voltage of person or object.
